No.. I'm NOT dead..
Sorry to ya all for the lack of updating lately.
Now lets get down to buisness!

Apocalypse did not make it for E3 :(
And it was really not that big of a surprise.
Though, Microprose did say something
very, very, interesting at the Expo.
They have burned the MasterCD of XCOM3!

This statement has resultet in two opinions
dealing with the release date.
Some say July 5. - 10.
And some say 15. of July.
Anyway, this heavy mother's gonna be
released in a couple of weeks time!!!

There has been much gossip about a rip of Apocalypse lately.
Do I have it?
Well, if i answered NO, I'd be lying.

So if you have any questions about
ANYTHING regarding XCOM3,
feel free to mail me and
I'll explain/take a screenshot of it.

To get things straight..
I AM going to buy the game from Microprose,
as soon as it is released.
This is due to several factors:

- Put bread on the table for Microprose.
- Get a game without irritating/fatal bugs.
- Get the FULL game with
BOX, CD, MANUAL, VIDEO, and MUSIC.
- Make XCOM4 possible.

Next week I'm gonna redo my Links section,
and add some great sites that needs attention.

Alan Dunkin at OGR (Online Gaming Review),
has written up the preview he promised us
on the bases of the "new" Pre-Beta.
It's located right here: http://www.ogr.com/previews/xcom3.shtml

It is interesting reading, though it has got very much "basic" information about the game.
So if you are not really into the story, or the game in general,
this will certainly bring you up to speed.

Though, no matter how well informed you are,
the Screenshots in this preview are
(located at the very bottom),
GREAT, and shows many interesting things.
And what's more.. there's --> 18 <-- of them.

After writing the preview,
Alan did comment that he felt the preview he had written up,
didn't go that much into detail about certain important
So expect to see a "second impressions"
(as he called it himself)
on the www anytime soon.

The E3 (Electronic Entertainment Expo)
held in Atlanta, starts June 19. and ends the 21.

Still not heard of it?
Well, then get some info here.

Microprose will be represented there, and they
are going to show us X-COM3: Apocalypse!
Anyway, I can't go there,
which I recently bravely admitted to myself.
This is mostly due to the fact that I live in Norway,
which is quite a distance from the city of Atlanta.

Though, one of you lucky sods out there might
be going. So if any of you are,
then I would be delighted to have you write
up a little about what you saw,
and experienced over there.
And I'll post it here of course.
I can be contacted at:

I finally got to fix up my files section a bit.
It's much easier and better looking now.
Besides remaking it, I also added a patch.
The patch allows you to play the demo
as the Anthropods. Kewl or what!
As with the Help section, it is delayed for
some time, until my exams belongs to the past.

Alan Dunkin seems to be a very buissy man.
His "in depth" preview of the NEW pre-beta,
recently shipped from Microprose,
has been pushed to Monday.
It's nothing to do about it, than simply wait.

Things are starting to happen again!
Alan Dunkin at Online Gaming Review
recieved a brand new Pre-Beta of Apocalypse,
on Friday. Here's what he says about it:
The beta for X-COM: Apocalypse is much more impressive
than that early pre-alpha, and is a lot more polished.
The UI of course is completely redone, the screen shot key works as with the demo. Looks like some of the alien palettes still need to be redone and revamped (some still move fairly stiffly and look even worse) which is somewhat admitted in the readme.txt file that accompanies the beta. Everything is polished and it looks like the game is fairly near release;
July or so.
He also states that he will have a new preview
ready, presumambly on Wednesday.
When this happens, I'll provide you guys
with the link, pronto.

I am still working on the new section for my X-COManiac page,
the "Help" section. My files section,
might also see some changes soon.
I expect this to be finished sometime during next week.

Hi again folks..
I've been buisy working on several things
for my X-COManiac page lately.
First of all, I have almost finished a
help/strategy section. In this section I'll explain
how the interface of Apocalypse is used,
and the strategic use of it.
I expect to get it up and running, soon.

Also I've (as you might have noticed),
been reworking the news-section some.
Now, last month and the current one,
will be displayed in two separate columns.
The present month in this column, and last
month in the other one, on the right side.
(eg. June in this and May in the other)
So next month, July will appear here,
June will be moved to the right column,
and May will be listed in the Archive.
Easy or what!

Watch out!
The next lines contains spoiler info!

The names of some of the organizations
that you will either ally with or fight against,
have been listed in a preview made by
Computer Game Entertainment.
Bear in mind that these are far from all.
There's said to be 30+ org. in the game.
  • Diablo
  • Cult of Sirius
  • Gravball League
  • Government
  • Mutant Alliance
  • Psyke
  • Sentient Engine Liberation Front (SELF)
  • Sensavision
  • Nutrivend
Thanks again Jeremy..

I have added a link to
the Apocalypse Compendium
this is a nice page,
so check it out.

I remember thinking last year (in May/June),
"if I can just wait another month,
then X-COM3 will surely be released.."
This (a year later), has proven to be very wrong.
Though this thought has kept on appearing
in my mind every month since then,
the feeling of this actually beeing true,
has never been stronger.

Now in the early days of June,
everything seems to point out an X-COM3
release, in late June or during July.
For example Microproses own X-COM3 page
has recently been renewed and is now saying,
on the very top of their page:
"X-COM: Apocalypse is coming soon!"

Also the first REVIEW, of X-COM3
is said to be in the Gamesmag PC Zone, with a
score of 95% and this comment:
"Don't argue with me, It's the best, OK"
I have not been able to check out
this review yet, but I inted to tomorrow.
(if my local newsagent got the latest mag)
Should I get to read it, then I'll post
some info here soon.
Thank you for the info Ralph Townsend.

And here's something for you cheaters out there.
This file called ammocht, allows
the use of a "disruptor" weapon.
This "disruptor" is quite powerful,
and makes a fine weapon for
defurnituring and walldestroying purposes.
Read all about it in the cheatme.txt included
in the zip file.

Actually, I'm so frustrated of
waiting for this game,
that if it isn't released by the 20. of July
(which I'm 95% sure that it's going to be),
then I will, believe it or not, go out
into the garden, AND EAT SOME GRASS!
To really prove that I so did, I'm gonna
post a picture of it here in the news section!
So if the game is not released by the 20. of july,
then you people will have something
to look forward to.
