Way to go Byron! He finally made the interview,
and interesting it is.
Go check it out here
What it revealed about what system they are going for is,
that their not yet decided.
They will try out TB, RT, Hybrid, and variations,
but he made sure "they would go for
the best system" What I liked ALOT, was that they saw some sort of RT system
in another game, that they liked and would improve for Genesis.
My bet will be an RT system with
great control and detail, to keep both action and micro management present in the game.

Byron unfortunately messed up the timezones when he was to interview Dave Ellis,
he missed him by two hours, and that was that.
(I guess Byron didn't pay to much attention
to the Geoscape hehe)
As you might have noticed I tried to start some debate around the
RT vs TB issue, over at Byron's msg board.
And what looks to be the unofficial word on what system Genesis is to use, is this:
a hybrid real time/turn based engine.
This means real time for movement, until combat which then initiates the turn based element.
This is by no means official word, but I hope Byron can get that answer soon..

It`s been a while, about two months since last update.
There's not much to write about either, but anyway, here goes..
The Electronic Entertainment Expo did not give us XCOManiacs any good info
about the upcoming titles, but Dave Ellis himself has been active lately.
Here's a direct link to a featured article
at Byron's site (XCommand),
where Dave replies a mail from Detonate on Genesis and other subjects.
Also check XCommand this weekend as Byron promises an "interview" with Dave Ellis.
What I'm missing in the article is which system they are going for in Genesis.
Real Time or Turned Based.. I hope Byron will address this issue.
