Mack has put up his Dreamland article revealing more than ever what this upcoming game is all about. And to my great pleasure I saw that the Gollop brothers were working on this, the people that made XCOM in the first place. There was also a thing that disturbed me quite a bit. It seems like Dreamland is beeing made for both PC and Playstation 2. That is not what worries me though, the thing is that it seems like it is going to be released on P2 before PC.. And I kind of fear that they will make it to "arcade" like. Now don't get me wrong I don't dislike Playstation, Nintendo and their kind for a little fun now and then, but a game with this kind of tension, depth, mood, I don't feel like doing a game console. Now you might say that they are developed separately, and will not suffer from having a twin. But just look at the Apocalypse RT/TB situation. Both did suffer..

Dremland screenshots are out!

Have a look at them here and dream on at least for about a year. It is set to be released in 4th Quarter 2000, so just forget about "Hasbeen" and Genesis. MythosGames is back on track again! And probably sometime this week, there's gonna appear an article on Dreamland at X-COM UNIVERSE

Byron over at XCommand has gotten hold of a Poster for Alliance! It's located on the front page, news section. It is actually quite kewl, and there is promises of screenshots to come.

BTW I've only used IE in my site design, so I've come to hear that it has some flaws in Netscape. Or as I say it, Netscape has flaws hehe. I'll try to fix it shortly.

Due to some various reasons, I decided to make a new layout for The XCOManiac Site. Well aware that I stated that XCOManiac would go down, I just couldn't do it after all. This site is best viewable in 1024 x 768, and thus makes some sections (specially some of the old ones), kind of messy in 800 x 600. So text may not fit well in the middle frame. Included in the news section is the old news way back to 1997. The old news (as well as some sections) are not right-aligned like the new news interface for 1999, though nicely readable. I hope you like it and will check in on this place from time to time. If you have ICQ you can find me at 57602970

I used some stuff from the old sections, and updated both graphics and content for this site. The sections that are not completed will be when I get the time. Do check out the new MP3 section under Other

And now the XCOM news:
As you all know by now, Hasbro sacked a whole bunch of people including the Genesis team. Development of Genesis will be moved, and some fear that it will not be completed, as many games in such a situation. On the lighter side of news we have confirmation that Mythos is working on a "back to basis" XCOM: UFO style game. And I'm sure many will be happy to hear that it is supposed to be Turn-Based. And mostly important, I think the Geoscape is back in and it's said to be great. What name this product will get is not known yet, but it will not contain XCOM, since this belongs to Hasbro/Microprose.
