My oh MY..
Yep things are happening, and news are leaking.
Here is a message posted by Detonate to the alt.games.x-com newsgroup.
And now moving on, assuming you've already read the above message.
Dave Ellis "leaks" what system people would like to see in XCOM Genesis:
"We have had an almost equal number of pleas to"
(A) go pure turn based,
(B) go pure real time,
(C) include options for both
So if I were to be the tie-breaker...I'd go for PURE REAL TIME!
I must admit though, going back to the Apocalypse-demo days,
I did not like the idea of this new real time option.
ONLY, that was before I tried it!
Honestly, I have not gone back even ONCE for the Turned Based option.
and why?
Because real time was exactly what I wanted.
More realistic battle progress, feeling that it was happening now.
Not just some board game, where you had to wait for your turn.
And if you missed that Floater with your first shot,
you couldn't fire again, because you were out of POINTS...?
Don't get me wrong, I loved the first XCOM's,
they are and will always be classics to me,
(of course specially the first one)
And I'm not saying that they weren't challenging enough either,
because you had to be very strategic to use them action-points right:
break cover - move - attack - seek cover - etc
What I'm saying is,
I'd rather use my strategic abilities on a real time enviroment,
where progress is made all the time by both sides,
than figuring out whether or not I will have enough points left to fire..
And for those of you out there that want to "include options for both",
I think you would be very very wise if you turned towards real time.
Because as I see it, you will end up with playing one of those options.
I mean, really, are there that many who played both options alot
on Apocalypse? If so that would surprise me.
So if you want real time.. GO FOR IT!
Since Dave Ellis himself said that "both options" were least likely,
it's not gonna happen. Just you wait and see.
well, that's my opinion..
Have a nice Holiday!

Well the word is out!
The next XCOM is to be called:
XCOM: Genesis
Thank's to Detonate for bringing this news out.

Jingle bells, jingle bells..
There are now rumours about a possible official XCOM website,
that could see the light of day around Alliance's release.
This would be very interesting indeed, Yes SIR!
Imagine finally having one OFFICIAL XCOM website, for the whole series.
Not that it necessarily would be that much better than
the personal pages out there, but still,
it's always best when it's fresh from the source.
Furthermore, here is Detonate's opinion on how it could be put to use:
"I keep stating the argument for an MPS XCOM server,
in the same vein as Blizzard's Battle.net server,
which IMHO would be a far better idea
and give the XCOM [and MPS] brand better exposure"
Yes, that would make sence.
A Multiplayer server for all XCOM games, at an Official XCOM site,
instead of putting them away at some big corporate Gaming Zone.
