Hugo Pratt bibliography
My wants list
Though this bibliography mainly intends to aid other collectors, particularly the beginner or novice, I am interested in completing my own collection as well. Look for the sign † next to a title; this denotes that I'm looking for that particular story. I'm also open for trades concerning more rare stuff, particularly articles and material from the "Argentine period". Contact me to discuss this in detail.

Introduction
The following bibliography is a compromise between two considerations: completeness and relevance. Simply to list every work by Pratt in chronological order, would be both confusing and misleading, as his oeuvre displays an immense variety. The primary distinction made here (indubitably also the most controversial) is that between 'major works' and 'other works'. The main motive behind this crude classification is to provide some form of guideline for the Pratt novices - connoisseurs finding my approach inadequate are suggested to consult the highly recommended volume De l'autre côté de Corto: Hugo Pratt - Entretiens avec Dominique Petitfaux (Casterman, 1996), which contains the most complete Pratt bibliography assembled to date (and to which the present one is hugely indebted).
In addition to listings works by Pratt, this bibliography also includes biographical/interview books, plus a small selection of articles and secondary literature.
The sign * means that the album is assumed to be currently available in French. Those interested, could check out Amazon, fnac, BDnet, eBay, and Chapitre (the latter also has a department for second-hand publications).
1. Major works
El sargento Kirk / Sgt. Kirk (1953-59)
Published in a lot of different formats. The five albums published by Les Humanoïdes Associés between 1984 and 1987 are worth picking up, as well as the three albums published by Arnoldo Mondadori Editore between 1974 and 1976.
Ticonderoga (1957-58)
The French album (Les Humanoïdes Associés, 1982) is very sought after by collectors, and thus expensive (around 100 Euro). Wait for a reprint.
Ernie Pike (1957-59) *
Glénat 1994. Not a complete collection (some unpublished episodes have recently been unearthed), but definitely recommended.

2. Other works
Hugo Pratt's total production between 1945 and 1995 was immense (approximately around 10.000 drawn pages!), and much of his work - particularly when it comes to the early comics - have been out of print for a long time, and is furthermore likely to be of limited interest to anyone else but the most fanatic collector. All works listed in this section arguably belongs to the category "secondary works" (admittedly, in some instances the distinction was hard to draw), and apart from title and year of publisment, I've not included any details or comments. For Pratt's own comments and assessments on many of these comics, consult the De l'autre côté de Corto (mentioned above).
