(03.01.2000): Terry Pratchett - The Fifth Elephanth The newest book in the Discworld series. Just as hysterically funny as the previous books... Commander Vimes (Ankh-Morpork City Watch) is sent to Überwald as an ambassador because of an coronation, Captain Carrot quits and Angua disappears. (And that's just in the beginning of the book) |
(11.04.2000): Larry Niven - Destiny's Road Technically perfect... Did you expect anything else from the creator of Ringworld? The story is a chilling discovery at the end of the road... Some of the scenechanges are a little bit confusing, and the history limps a little bit. But otherwise the book's good enough. |
(15.05.2000): Peter F. Hamilton - The Naked God This book is the reason that I haven't been able to do anything the last week... The book is the third (and last) in the 'Night's Dawn' trilogy. Thrilling, but somewhat long(1250 pages!), and if you haven't read the first two books, you're gonna get problems following the action in this book.. |
(29.09.2000): Vonda N. McIntyre - Starfarers, Transition, Metaphase and Nautilus Oh yes, the whole Starfarers series. I recently aquired the missing book in my collection, and decided to read the whole series again... What can you say about this series except that it had its own fanclub BEFORE the first book came off the press. This series have it all: Aliens, Cosmic superstring(Ask your local physics professor), solar sails, atomic explosions, sabotage, friendship... Buy the books and read them! |

(12.11.2000): Orson Scott Card - Ender's Game The first book in the series about Ender Wiggins. And the book that started Orson's carer. Describe it? Can't... but a small quote: "Remember," said Ender. "The enemy's gate is down." |
