Tamiya 14048 Yamaha SRX-6
A naked bike for once, and a very enjoyable kit featuring lots of metalizer paints. Read on

Tamiya 14076 Red Bull Yamaha YZR500 '99
I got this kit as a Christmas present from my girlfriend. (a sign of approval?)
She got it in Paris and I started it as soon as the can of TS-Pearl Blue and the tins with the new Tamiya enamels (X-31, X-32, X-33 and X-32) arrived from Japan. The kit is a sheer joy to build, read about the project here

Test fit of the tank and seat unit, just to try my new digital camera.

Tamiya 14071 Honda NSR500 '98 converted into Marlboro version
This project started out of frustration over the finish of one of my first project, the Tamiya 14071 repsol Honda. Due to the difficulty of the decals, I ruined it more or less, so when I found the decal sheet with the Marlboro decals, I was saved! Read on here.

The picture shows the sanded down ill- fated Repsol Honda.

Other Tamiya YZR's
In the middle of June 2000 I started on the 14001 YZR (Kenny Roberts) and the 14078 Antena3 YZR500. So far I have painted the bodywork and applied (most of) the decals, here's a few pics taken with a digital Canon Ixus camera:

Some of the Antena3's bodywork painted with Modeler's bright red paint thru a Tamiya airbrush.

Kenny Senior's Yamaha YZR500 fairing, the camera flash makes it look rough, wich it's not.

Projects, projects, projects...
I really have a lot of projects going on right now, all 1/12 Tamiya's. Here's a quick brief:
Team Rainey YZR: I had the bodywork on this one almost done (paintwise) when I dropped it while rubbing the fairing. The metal parts made it quite heavy so it was severly damaged, I put it aside in order to regain motivation, but now it is back on track after a heavy restoration. So far the white section has been painted.

Team Pons NSR: This kit is based on Tamiya's new 14082 Nastro Azurro NSR, Read on

'99 Repsol Honda: I applied some Humbrol gloss cote over the bodywork to protect the decals, it was quite tricky to thin correctly as I haven't done it before (I used it thru the airbrush of corse) and the result could be better but at least it showed some potential.. I used Tamya's special NSR colors for this kit, and instead of applying the white and orange decals I masked and painted these sections. The NSR logo's was cut from the original decal and just applied to the body. I really recommend a clear coat to top of this kit as it made the deep blue metallic paint stand out and look much more bright and lively. Read on

'99 Suzuki RGV500: This kit is almost finished now, I painted the bodywork white with some consumer's enamel spray (thru the airbrush once again) and used the decals as decribed. I would advice other builders to not use the white side decal with the Suzuki logo, but rather paint the white section and use the transparent Suzuki decal that's also supplied, as the white decal is too transparent. The bodywork had a coat of Testor's varnish wich turned yellow, so I'll have to refinish it. Project put a little bit on ice.....

Tamiya 14068 Ducati 916 with MRM transkit: This project will make a replica of Carl Fogarty's Ducati 996 superbike racer. Read on

Tamiya 14082 Nastro Azurro Honda
Yes, another Honda NSR500 GP-bike. I just love'em! More
