Pedro's Easy NDS Userobject Creator Release v0.97, June 28, 1999 This software is FreeWare and PostCardWare. If you find it useful, send me a postcard with a photo from where you live: Pedro E. Thormodsen Gangvn. 16 2800 Gjovik Norway Send suggestions or bugreports to pedro@c2i.net and check http://home.c2i.net/thormodsen/enuc/ for updates. *********************************************** Ever wanted to play around with a big NDS tree, full of users ? Check out how it synced across a WAN ? Test out the true power of Z.E.N.works with thousands of users ? I did, but the chore of creating all those dummy-objects was not apealing at all, so I came up with this little utility that simplifies the task. Fire it up, press F4 and take it for a spin around your local NDS tree. *********************************************** Prerequisites: 1. You must have installed the Novell Client software for the program to work. 2. To create users, you must have the proper NDS rights to do so. 3. Users can only be created in Organization and Organizational Unit objects. If for some reason you should bump into an NDS error of some sort, take a note of the error number (usually in the form of fffffd9d or something) and search for the explanation at http://support.novell.com/servlet/Knowledgebase *********************************************** Version history: - v0.97, released 28/6-1999 Added support for: + Selectable fFixed length of digits + No underscore in username + Specify starting digit used in name Thanks to Tony Kwok for suggestions. - v0.91, released 18/5-1999 *********************************************** Known issues: Seems that the program has some dificulties in determining weather you are logged in to an NDS or not if you haven't run any of Novells utilities before using it. Solution: Run a Novell utility and restart the program. In newer versions of the Novell Client, right-clicking the Novell N in the taskbar and doing a NetWare Connections seems to be enough. *********************************************** Disclaimer: The author of this software takes no responsibility for whatever effects the use of this software may have on any equipment, software, or persons.
