Seigmens first release was self-financed and released on their own label, Ikon. This is a hard album with lots of heavy riffs and raw vocals. The production is very one-dimensional, but nevertheless this is a very solid debut. They still often play "Fra X til døden" at their concerts.
Ameneon (1993)
Seigmens second release was also ment to be published on Ikon, but
Sony heard one of the songs ("Mesusah") and signed them to their norwegian
independent label 1:70. This is a more varied album, the heavy songs are
still there, but there are more melodic and quiet parts. This album has
a better sound than "Pluto", and "Mesusah" is still Seigmens best song!!
Monsun (1993)
This single was released to promote "Ameneon", and includes two songs,
"Monsun" and a cover from fellow norwegian (ex)band Kung Fu Girls, "Peter
Parker Theme".
Hjernen er alene (1994)
This EP includes one of Seigmens biggest hits, "Hjernen er alene".
This is a cover song from a very poular norwegian band, called De Lillos.
Seigmen totally rearranged the song, and it sounds nothing like the original.
The EP also contains a remix of "Korstoget" from their first release "Pluto"
and a live version of "Mesusah" from Sentrum Scene in Oslo. The two songs
"Monoloog" and "Manifest" are by fellow norwegians Subgud.
Döderlein (1994)
This single was released in conjuntion with the release of Seigmens
third album "Total" (look below), and contains both a radio edit and an
accoustic version of "Döderlein", plus "Dekadans", a beatiful song
with no vocals, just a lot of humming and accosutic guitars. Once
again two of the tracks are by Subgud, namely "Mytho I" and "Mytho II".
Total (1994)
Sylvia Massy (Tool) was brought in to produce Seigmens third album.
"Total" is a different kind of album than "Pluto" and "Ameneon". Although
as depressive and monotonous as before, here the heavy guitars are toned
more down, and they have focused more on melody and atmosphere. The production
is excellent, and this is Seigmen in all their glory!
Lament (1995)
The second single off of "Total" contains the album version of "Lament"
plus a remix of "Pantheon" by Mental Overdrive, who has added a lot of
loops and other electronic sounds to the song. The third song on the single,
"Pacem", is performed by, guess who....Subgud!
Metropolis (single, 1995)
The song "Metropolis" is clearly Seigmens biggest hit, and represents
some sort of commercial breakthrough for Seigmen in Norway. Also included
on this single are two songs recorded live at Roskilde in 1995, "Hjernen
er alene" and "Fra X til døden". This single sold thousands of copies
and topped the norwegian charts for weeks.
Metropolis (1995)
Once again produced by Sylvia Massy, this is Seigmens breakthrough-album
commercially. From being an unknown underground band in 1993, they
were now topping the norwegian charts. The album is very "listener-friendly",
but it still has Seigmens distinct sound and atmosphere. The album has
later been called "a necessary mistake" by the band.
Slaver av solen (1995)
The second single from the Metropolis-album has two CD's. The first
contains "Slaver av solen" plus a cover of danish band Gasolin's "Dråben".
The second CD is contains an accoustic version of "Mesusah" plus a couple
of new songs and also has very good rearranged versions of "Sort
tulipan" and "Sort disippel". This single has a lot of great songs and
really is a must.
Metropolis (english version, 1995)
When Seigmen recorded "Metropolis" they also made an english version.
The english version contains the same songs as the norwegian version, only
with (mostly) different names. In addition there are three song not
on the norwegian release (and the norwegian version has one song not on
the english version). The songs are almost identical on the two discs,
except for the vocals which has been rearraged for this CD.
The First Wave (1997)
Released to promote Seigmen's newest album, this single has three songs.
"Universal" is taken off of "Radiowaves" (look below), while "P-Machinery"
is a cover of Propaganda's old song, completely rearranged. The last song
on the single, "Toys", is an excellent remix of "Mother Earth" from "Metropolis".
Also on this single is the video of the song "Metropolis". Try putting
it in your CD-Rom drive....
Radiowaves (1997)
This album represents "a new era" for Seigmen, as it is their first
CD which is only released in english. On this album Seigmen has experimented
a lot with radiosounds (as the albumname would suggest), and also has added
some electronic elements. This album is (luckily) not as commercial as
"Metropolis", the songs are still typical Seigmen, but with the electronic
elements Seigmen has added a new dimension to their music.
The Next Wave (1997)
This single contains "The modern end", a song that resembles older
Depeche Mode songs. Two previously unreleased tracks can also be found
on this disc.
Mørkets Øy (1997)
This single represent a short return to norwegian lyrics for Seigmen,
who made this song for the movie with the same name. This is a really cool
song with lots of church-bells in the background. Seigmen are perfect for
making music to horror/scary movies (although this one sucked). The other
two tracks are musical scores from the movie, and are not made by Seigmen.
