1967 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme Holiday coupe with option L-66: Turnpike Cruising Package ("TPC")
This page is about Identification and Numbers

After I Bought my car I started looking for information about it. I found a whole lot but I also came across some people who said this was a rather seldom car. They really did not made many of them. Because of this and because I am a "car nut" (although I also got a motorcycle) I did some research on my cars number.

Here is what I've found

REAR AXLE CODE:                    R6= 2:56 to 1 axle ratio with J 52 (disc brakes on front wheels)

R6                                This axle ratio is not referred to in original GM litterateur until 1968.  The only place I found it is the original assembly drawings from the plant, who was revised to include it in 1967. Several car magazines (in 1966-67) are referring to the 2:56 as the axle that will be installed as standard, although their tested examples are equipped with 2:41 to 1 axle !

Here is some other strange thing,
This is a picture of my engine valve cover emission decal:

This is a reprint of the decal that's there This is a reprint of the decal supposed to be there

The Turnpike cruiser should have the red decal, this reflect the actual horsepower 300 not the 350 as in the silver 442 decal. Someone could of course have changed it but regarding to the Title the car had the same owner for at least the last 24 years before I bought it.
