MR2 mk1
The first generation Mr2 known as mk1
is actually an abandoned Lotus model that was then sold to Toyota and redesigned
by Lotus for metric and mass production. The Mr2 first name was Lotus X100.
Then Toyota call it SV3 (Proto type), but at last it was named MR2. What
MR2 stands for is Midship Runabout 2.
The mk1 was produced from 1984-1989.
In this period it came with a 1500ccm engine (Japan), a 1600TC
16V and a Super Charged (US)
version of this. The SC was delivered from 1987-89 and with T-bar roof
only.

The mk2 was first made in 1990 and up
to day. It was delivered with 4 different engines.
2.0L 3S-FE (119-140hk) Only Japan
2.0L 3S-GE (153-180hk) Export model
mainly Europe
2.0L Turbo 3S-GTE (200-245hk) USA
and Japan only
2.2L 5S-FE (130-135hk) Mainly USA.
The Mk2 was not sold in Norway because
the silly tax law and that it was more exspensive then the Celica.

MY
MR2:
I have a MR2 mk1, produced in january
1986 in japan. I purchased the car
in November 1996 in Fauske, North
of Norway. Me and my little brother
drive 600 km to see and buy
the car.
The registration number is SP92346
and was first time registered
in BERGEN by a women in July 1986,
she have had it to 199? (I don't remember but I will find out) after that
one man have had the pleasure
to own it. :-)
The car is White and with sunroof. (Picture
is on the way)
In the time I have had the car,
I made some changes:
Jamex lowering spring, 30mm.
Strut Tower Brace front, Toyota.
KYB sport shocks
Janspeed exhaust system
K & N Induction kit 57I
Alpine 7939 cd-player, expensive but
VERY NICE!
Mac audio loudspeakers, 3 way.
Mac audio amplifier, 4x110 watt.
TSW
16*7,5 alloys, Blade.
Yokohama AVS-1 205/45-16
TRD
short stroke shift kit.
My next steep is to do something
with the engine I have considered
to change to Supercharged,
4A-GE 20valve or put a turbo
on my orig. engine. For
the time it looks like I'm going to change to SC, but who know what
happens? (I will writhe about it)
