the pieces of your own family puzzle to give a picture of the part they
played in the pioneer story. It's never too late to join forces with others
in your relationship to tell your own family story. Family history resaerch
is one of the most interesting, pleasurable and gratifying hobbies you can
develop. Following the trails and trails of your forebears can lead you to
many exciting tales -- true life stories -- more meaningful than any movie.
Discovering your ancestry is a oleasant way to make new friends... to
adventure in history... to travel... to develop talents or hobbies... to
create new interests and enrich your livs.
As you begin your research determine your goals. Do you want to find out
where your family came from, publish a family history, visit the home farm or
farms in Norway, determine if you have relatives in Norway, put together
a slide presentation or video on the family, make a family tree in the form of
a quilt or picture, meet others that share your roots, organize a family
reuion, or just know a little of your family for a trip to Norway? The
amount of time available to search and the reason for searching may help
determine how extensive a project you may want to do. Obviously you can't
always trace all your ancestors. Some may be hard to find or others might be
more intresting because you have been able to find more information or they
might have been more prominent in settlement history. After you have thought
