This month review:
Bruce Springsteen - TRACKS

No one other then the Boss has released a new collection of albums - yes several albums - that include more then 4 hours, 66 songs of good music and atmosphere recorded of 25 years period.

Springsteen has released a collection of four CD albums to all his fans - because that is what this TRACKS collection is - for fans especially. Just read what the Boss has written about this release:

" During the long intervals between my record releases, as l was spending more and more time in the studio, when l met a fan on the street I was often asked. "What are you guys doing in there?" I regularly pondered that question myself.

What we were doing in there was making a lot of music, a lot more music than l could use at any one time. As a result, my albums became a series of choices - what to include, what to leave out? l based my decisions on my creative point of view at the moment - the subject I was trying to focus on, something musical or emotional l was trying to express. In certain instances, as on Darkness on the Edge of Town, Nebraska, and The Ghost of Tom Joad, these choices crystallized the album I was making. On some of my other records the reasons l had for choosing one song over another, in hindsight, feel a good deal less significant. One of the results of working like this was that a lot of music, including some of my favorite things, remained unreleased.

This collection contains everything from the first notes l sang in a Columbia recording studio, my early and later work with the E Street Band, through my music in the 90s. lt's the alternate route to some of the destinations l traveled to on my records, an invita- tion into the studio on the many nights we spent making music in search of the records we presented to you. 1'm glad to finally be able to share this music; here are some of the ones that got away.
Bruce Springsteen September 1998 "

So fans of Springsteen: this release is contains 56 never-before-released songs! And as far as I can understand this tracks are very good - and it is my opinion that anyone could really enjoy a lot of these songs even without knowing who Bruce Springsteen is (if that's possible).

The release contains many songs rom the first recording Springsteen ever made via many typical E Street Band songs and others of that periode, to the latest style of music that Springsteen have been making.
Tracks like Restless Nights and Living on the Edge of Town are tones that we know from the E Street Band time. Some of the songs are awesome like Seven Angels and Part Man, Part Monkey. Others, like Gave it a Name and Sad Eyes, are products of later developed music style, and are the best high fidelity music.

There is a lot of music for all different occasions, moods and atmosphere - generally something that everyone could like, but the prize of four CD's do not fall cheep, therefor: fans buy this collection without listening to it first, because this is real Boss-production. And to all others: I recommend you consider buying it - but listen to some tracks first.
