Remembar that the content is most important. The design shall promote the message to the reader.

Make the design as logical as possible, with menus that are stay the same all the site.
3.
Do not use many different colors. It will become confusing. Stay with three colors where as white is the background color of the text and the text must be colored black.
4.
Use the same design to all pages at your site with exception of the mainpage if you want.
5.
Cut down at the use of pictures in the design. This will take longer time to load the page. Use the few pictures several time if possible.
6.
Do not make large files. A normal page must not go over 50KB including all images, music and others.
7.
Make sure that the space given to the text (the real content) is central and large. It must catch the attension.
8.
Divied the content in with subtitles and make the text in short paragraph.
9.
Be careful with all sorts of effects not made in HTML. Java, movies and music all takes time to load and often becomes disturbing.
10.
It might be smart to make the start page a simpel page with a table of contents, presenting for the first time to the visitor the main issues or themes at the site.
