Lofoten is a group of islands, housing about 20.000 people. The grand nature together with a unique atmosphere and hospitality has made Lofoten a very attractive destination for people all over the world. Almost 250.000 tourists come here every season.

There has been found traces which shows that Stone Age people as well as Vikings lived here.
Apparantly, fish was traded from Lofoten as early as in year 875.
Fish is also today a very big part of the commercial activity in Lofoten.
