Erica Sheppard wanted to
die.But just weeeks before her April date,
the 24 year old mother changed her mind.
Over the last few months,
Sheppard has received dozens of letters each day,
urging her to keep fighting.
What finally
changed her mind wasa "devine encounter" she had with
God.God told her not to give up.
She will likely
remain on death row for several more years,while her case winds through the courts.

and rolling the car into the lake.
The defense lawyer David Bruck painted a picture
of a deeply disturbed and depressed young woman
who had suffered from sexual molestation
at the hands of the stepfather.
The prosecutor proposed the death penalty.
Susan is not on death row.
