State representative Jim Pitts in Texas
is calling for lowering the age
that children may be tried as adults.
He wants 11 year- olds to be eligible for
capital punishment.

US is one of the few countries in the world
that executes juvenile offenders:
criminals whose alleged offenses
were committed
when they were under the age of 18.

60 men are now awaiting execution
for crimes they committed as juveniles.
They make up 2 percent
of the total death row population.

executed December 7th 1993.
JOSEPH CANNON
