Mr. Alan J.Bannister has been given an execution-date set for october 22nd.
He must immediately be given a re-trial, because he didn`t have a competent counsel.
His defence-attorney spent less than an hour with Mr. Bannister before the trial.
No Court of Appeal has decided whether Mr. Bannister had a competent counsel.

Secondly: The police-officer who arrested him now supports the clemency-efforts, because he knows that this punishment doesn`t fit the crime. The investigation was tainted, and the counsel was incompetent.

I want to point out to you that that The Human Rights Commission of the Organization of American States is holding an emergency hearing of Mr. Alan J. Bannisters case today october 10. in Washington D.C.

This case is beeing followed all over the world. It is still not too late to give this case a new look, so Mr. Alan J. Bannister can be given the opportunity to come forward with a competent counsel, whitch he should have been in the first place.
