The steam trains (605x)
The trains consist of 8 cars: 1 hard seat car for the crew, 2 hard sleepers, 1 dining car, 4 hard seat cars. The train had type 22 cars until summer 2001, then brand new type 25 cars were put in service.
The diesel express trains (99x)
This is a new service since July 1, 2000. These trains are diesel motor units. They stop only at the most important stations. Accomodation is in hard seat, hard sleepers, soft seat cars. This train is a modern Qingdao-produced railcar. Very comfortable!
Service every second day: EVEN days from Huhehaote (Hohhot), ODD days from Daban. Train runs not on 31st day of a month! From September 16, 2001, this train ran daily.

Steam hauled passenger trains
Trains runs every day, YZ and YW, dining car. From minor stations, you buy tickets from conductor! Trains 6051/4, 6052/3 stop at every station and railway workers houses in between. Only major stations are included in this timetable. The trains stop at more stations!
