(story)
You are, as allways, Gordon Freeman. After you got that mess the scientist
made under controll, the scientists and the goverment have set up a research
lab, called New Mexico Alien Reasearch Center. This lab is offcourse secret.
But the aliens have somehow managed to open the port between theyr dimension and
ours. They are now teleporting to the lab, and attacking it and everything in it,
to free theyr fellow soldiers/citizens/friends or whatever they call them. Somehow,
somebody (propably some really rich guys with alot of connections) have gotten
news about this, and they have sent in hired soldiers to clear up the mess and
take as many aliens as possible for theyr own interest. We have reason to belive that
they are after the gargantua in the testlabs. We want you to get in there and kill it,
then escape. All this comes as a shock on us. We thought the portal was closed, but
clearly it has been reopened. Because of soldiers allready being there, we don't want
to create more mess by sending in more soldiers to fight with both aliens and other
soldiers. Therefore we send you in, just kill the gargantua, and escape.
Oh, by the way. The labs are connected in different power systems.
One of them is shut down, so some lights are off, and
some doors are not functionable. We suspect that you'll have to turn the power on
in order to escape. You have access to all retinal scanners, since you was the one who
closed the portal in the first place. You will allways be welcome in our labs.
Still, the millitary knows nothing of this, they will not be pleased to know this. So
we won't tell them. But, hurry, kill the gargantua before they get it. I guess this is one of
the consequences we have to put up with when dealing with aliens from another dimensions.
Thanks to new technology, we will be able to send you brief messages,
every now and then. When most needed.
Tips:
To stop the two gunners with the rocketlaunchers, kill the soldiers in the iron boxes(they controll the turrets).
Use the crossbow to snipe. There are many places you can snipe from. Use autoaim to help you.
The level is perfectly finishable without having to cheat(I played right through them on hard).
Type 'skill 3' in console before playing the maps to get the hardest difficulty(skill 0 for the easiest).
You don't have to kill everything, and most areas have something, like a very good gunner, a button that turns on the power,
health, etc(not all, so just discover and hope you find anything useful).

This map was supposed to be a Quake1 map. But because of high
r_speeds I had to convert it to a Half-Life map. Since HL takles
high r_speeds better than Q1. I know what most of you guys think
when I say: "high r_speeds". But, infact, some of us out there
have computers that easily play maps like these. Most of the time
the map has r_speeds from 20 to 800. But in one area, the R_speeds
are from 800 to 1900. But that is still just a little part of the map.
The level is detailed, and contains alot of small brushes forming a
cirkle or other round objects. I allso used alot of time to make edges
round and nice. Since I used the 1.6 version of WC to edit this map
as a quake map at first, I used alot of time on making the round edges.
When I found out that Q1 didn't "like" levels like this one,
I converted it to a HL level, and continued working on it with the
2.1 version of WC. But still, many of the round edges
(or curves, or whatever) could not be made with WC's(2.1) arch
selection. So, many of the cirkles and round edges made after I
converted the map were still made brush by brush. The map is
best played over a LAN network(you know, that kind of network you
play through on a gathering). Well, I myself wouldn't mind if I
saw a map on the net like this one. If the map is quality, and It's
only error is a little high r_speeds in a little area, I would
defenently download it. Cause I have no proplem with using my
prosessor and graphics card for some serious gaming(on a detailed,
great map!) So, to all you guys out there: If you are not using a
p200 with no 3DFX card, you should download this map!
(I just can't believe it when people have computer's like that when
you can buy a P2-400 or 450, with a Voodoo2, for nothing).
By the way, the pics of this map are 676KB :)
(yes, they are zipped, but they don't compress much since a .jpg file
allready is compressed).
The map can allso be played as a teamplay map. :)
My next level will have low r_speeds :) I promise! =)

Well, I think this is my best HL Deathmatch level so far. Personally,
I like the texturing and the layout. The layout could have been better,
but it was hard to improve without deleting what I allready had made.
Didn't want to do that, since I liked what I allready made. The level is for 2 to 7
players, and has every weapon available in Half-Life in it. Ain't gonna describe
the level morer than that. You can take a look at the pictures. Since I don't care
anymore how many people download the map at the sites with the counters, you can download it
right away, here :) I guess, and hope that Radium
takes a look at the level some time, and gives it a score.
I used over 10 custom textures in the map.
Pics are darker than the level really is. R_Speeds are ok, accept from one place(yes, 1 spot)
where the r_speeds are at 1000(wpoly). All other places in the level have wpoly from 20 to 800(800 is normal in large areas).
Most of the time around 320 to 500.
The level is updated, if you downloaded it before the 27 august,
please download again.
