SYNOP-SYNAN - Synchronous Generator Optimization and
Analysis
Design and analysis of salient pole synchronous generators of all
sizes, ranging from small two pole diesel driven generators up to the largest
hydroelectric generators.
The cost of the machine plus losses is
minimized, and all the important performance requirements are met automatically.
Limits can be specified for temperature rise, losses, transient reactance, rotor
inertia, rim stress, etc. The entire program is supplied in Fortran source code.
Stator
winding types include roebel bar windings, form wound coils and random windings
in semiclosed slots. Numbers of slots and parallel circuits are always chosen to
give balanced windings, and numbers of turns per coil are rounded to the nearest
integers. Field windings can be wire wound, strip wound or with welded strip.
Ventilation can be axial or radial.
Complete analysis is also performed
by the optimizing program. Input for the analysis program is generated
automatically by the optimizing program, and both programs generate input for
finite element program FLD13.
