FLD8 - Skin Effect and Eddy Currents
Finite element solution of flat and axi-symmetric two dimensional
magnetic fields with induced eddy currents. The grids can have up to
30000 nodes. Vector potentials are calculated as
complex numbers.
Typically, the program is used to calculate losses
due to induced eddy currents. In such problems, total currents are usually known
in conductors connected to voltage sources, and are often zero in other
conductors where the only return paths for the currents are through the
conductors themselves. Restrictions are also imposed by transpositions and
connections. The program can handle all such possibilities. There are post processors for
wire windings, sheet windings, graphs and other types of special output.
