The Colonial Skimmer was the ancestor to the Lake amphibians, which have the longest production run of any amphibian aircraft in the aviation history. A number of Colonial Skimmers are still flying, and a few are under restoration. The purposes of these web-pages are to document the history and the operation of the Colonial Skimmers, and to be a forum for Skimmer owners and enthusiasts.. These web-pages are made in co-operation with the World's No. 1 Skimmer/Lake expert, Mr. John H. Staber. John is restoring the protoype C-1 Skimmer N6595K - "The Mother of All Lakes"! Thanks, John! Steinar Saevdal (Webmaster) These Colonial Skimmer web-pages would not be possible without the kind help from; Ross Hand, William T. Larkins, Howard Schwarzman, John H. Staber, and all of you that helped without me knowing it!
