• Beautiful hand made ships models for sale at Skudefestivalen (the ship's festival) at Skudeneshavn.

• Two representatives of an old ship's engine club from Tungenes. Yes, she's running. Look at the smoke, and the movement of the flywheel.
• Starting up another old glowhead fishingboat engine. First you have to preheat the glowhead with a blowtorch! These engines run with a lovely old "Thump, thump, thump..." Nothing like the roar of a modern infernal combustion engine. They are started by pressurised air.

• I fell for these beautiful hand-crafted cupboards. Just like something out of "The Hobbit" I'd have one, if only I had room.
• The "Swan" (to the right) had come to the festival at Skudeneshavn from Lerwick, Shetland.
• Espevær is a lovely green island right out in the ocean. The nature is beautiful, and there is an UFO ring.

• Some people have more money. The beautiful British yacht on the left looked brand new and had everything, probably including a paid crew to keep her shining.
• Traditional Norwegian double-enders and a small rescue vessel in Bergen harbour.

• Bergen is a bustling modern city, but has managed to keep much of it's old world charm.
• From Bergen Gregory Miller and I took a train, boat and bus trip to see Sognefjorden and the "Flåmsbana" railway, one of the worlds most impressive railways, and Norway's steepest. The train stopped at the Kjosfossen waterfall halfway down.
• "Huldra" dancing in the Kjosfossen waterfall. The Hulder will lure innocent young men into the mountains and keep them prisoner there, presumably as sex slaves. They are always beautiful, but can be distinguished from normal Norwegian girls by their long tail.
• The train stopped by the waterfall. OK everybody out, 10 minutes stop, get your pictures, back on the train...

• These old railway cars at Flåm were in use as a restaurant. We asked a beautiful young girl where to eat, and she said: Well, my uncle runs that restaurant, my sister works at that one, and my other sister works over there. In the end we shopped at the grocery store and made our own lunch.
• The Russian cruise ship "Maxim Gorkij" arriving at Flåm. She made fast with no less than nine dock lines! Rather overkill in a what is probably one of the most sheltered harbours in the world.

• Leaving Flåm and the "Maxim Gorkij". She would do well to have her fuel burning system looked over.
• Sorry, can't remember the name of this waterfall in Sognefjorden.
• Aurland on the north shore of Sognefjorden.
• Another view from Sognefjorden. If you look closely, you can make out a small white speck in the centre of the photograph. The small speck is a large ferry.

• The path up to this farm is so steep that they use ladders part of the way. In the old days, they would pull the ladder up when the taxman came, and thus avoid paying tax.

• On the ferry in Sognefjorden playing "canned tourist".
• The bus from the ferry stop at Gudvangen up to the railway station at Voss stopped for 10 minutes of photographing at Stalheim Hotel. This is the view.
• Back in Bergen, this is the world famous fish market next to the guest harbour.
• The NOK 80.- (USD 10.5) harbour dues in Bergen include a ride on the cable car which goes up to mount Ulriken, the highest of the seven mountains that surround Bergen.
