BLIND GUARDIAN started in 1986, but the name was not BLIND GUARDIAN. They released their first demo Symphonies of Doom under the name Lucifer's Heritage. When they gave out the demo No Remorse Records guaranteed them a record contract, that resulted in them changing their name to BLIND GUARDIAN. They released their first album "Battalions of Fear" under the name BLIND GUARDIAN in 1988. In 1989 they released the album "Follow the blind" and in 1990 their music spreaded to other kingdoms with "Tales from the Twilight World". "Tales from the Twilight World" is an album which mixed the great melodic metal style with orchestral and medieval elements that made their music an uncomarabel style.

In 1992 they got a record contract with Virgin and they released "Somewhere far beyond", an album that granted them one way ticket to world recognition.

In 1993 they released a live album recorded in the far kongdom of the rising sun, japan, showing how their popularity was spreading around the world.

In 1995 after three years they released "Imagination from the other side" which proved that they are the worlds greatest band.

In 1996 they released the album "The Forgotten Tales" which is a kind of a remix album. It contains some covers and some classical versions of some of their heavy songs.
