WELCOME to the 2001 WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP for the
2,4 m R Class
By chairman of the
organizing committee, Ivan Bendiksen
On behalf of the Tønsberg Seilforening
and the Racing Committee, I can now offer the Notice of Race for this
year’s World Championship. We are looking very much forward to meeting you all
for some glorious summer days at our club and being with you in some highly
competitive and exicting sailing. We will do our outmost to make you feel
comfortable and at the same time facilitate a fair and well organized
Championship.
Our club is located on a small
island south of Tønsberg, Fjærholmen. The club is accessible by car and has
ample free parking. The club was started in 1888 and has currently a broad base
of cruising sailors, recruiting classes from 7 years on and highly competitive
sailors in several classes, with recent winners of world championships and
olympic gold medals. We have over the years had the honour and pleasure of
hosting many national and international events. We are boasting a very good
location and very good facilities for sailing, come and see for yourself!
Our own 2,4 m sailors have met
many of you and are vouching for a fine group of people coming here this
summer. We welcome you all again to a happy reunion in Tønsberg!
