Armageddon

The favorite Jehovah's Witness, and fundy fantasy. The event that makes it all happen. The day when all of those horrible people who didn’t accept the Watchtower Society chronology about 1914, and thus of course must be declared "wicked" will get their comeuppance! This is really a remarkable piece of classic cultic black and white thinking. The total lack of any kind of nuances is almost unbelievable. In this world Hitler and Mother Theresa is equally guilty. The one who caused untold pain, death and suffering to millions of people are to suffer the same punishment as the one who dedicated her life to relieve poverty, pain and suffering.

It is almost comic in all its insane stupidity. I often wondered what was the purpose of all the articles in the Watchtower literature, where they gloated over the scandals of the clergy in various churches, getting caught in all kinds of sordid affairs.

What is the purpose of such articles? They know full well that exactly the same thing goes on within their own ranks, so what? And why gloat over the oh so human faults of the clergy, when there is people in the same churches who lead absolutely impeccable lives in every sense are to meet with exactly the same fate as their "sinful" colleagues? What does it matter? These people are going to be butchered by the Watchtower god anyway, because they didn’t buy the "true gospel" about 1914!

One wonders in vain about the mindset of people who even try to justify such horrible events with something they call a "happy ending". Most of us are probably familiar with the "Lillelid case". Where a whole family with the exception of one was savagely murdered. I happen to know the family myself. Those of you who yearn for, long for, and dream about, and fantasize about the day when over 6 billion people, families, children is going to be butchered just because they are NOT Jehovah's Witnesses. You were probably just as shocked and sickened as the rest of us by this horrible deed. Yet you don’t seem to understand the glaring inconsistency. You keep trudging from door to door, claiming that you come with "good news". That you are proclaiming "Jehovah’s wonderful purpose for mankind". Yet you somehow forget to tell these people the consequences of these "Good News"!

How can anyone in possession of his or her mental faculties go around calling such a horrible bloodbath, "Good News"? "Oh, but it is good news for those who survive" is the answer. Well, I pity you. I really do. The wholesale slaughter of 6 billion people is of course not "Good News" for anyone, least of all for those who "survive". This kind of thinking shows a mindset so utterly inhuman that I am ashamed on behalf of the human race. No wonder madmen like Hitler and Stalin had such a success, they were able to find a sufficient number of people with this mindset, who didn’t care about anything but their own "survival".

Then you have the ultimate Jehovah's Witness excuse: "But it is the "word of God". We didn’t invent this, the Bible say so!" Well, "God’s Word" was used as an excuse to burn witches, the crusades, the inquisition, (continued by the Watchtower in their star chamber courts) to enslave blacks and to keep discriminating them, to treat women like animals, to have sex with your children, to beat your wife and children, and more currently to discriminate against homosexuals. All in all Christians have used the so-called "Word of God" as excuse for any evil deed under the sun. And, rightly so, you can find support for anything in "God’s Word".

I have absolutely no fear that anything of this will ever happen. But that doesn’t excuse the fact that there are people who live and breathe for this. Whose whole life is dedicated to "survival" of this insane fantasy called Armageddon. A cult with a gang or totally unscrupulous leaders has been able to con people into believing that they have the key to this "survival". "Only by blind obedience to us, will you be able to survive Armageddon", is the message. "The only way you can serve Jehovah is to peddle our literature". Incredible!

Consider how utterly ridiculous and insane, the whole foundation of this cult is. Almost 2000 years ago Jesus was supposedly telling a parable, where he mentioned a "faithful and discreet slave". Somehow he had in mind a bunch of octogenarians living in Brooklyn, New York, of all places. Can anyone imagine something as totally ridiculous, far-fetched and raving insane as this? If it weren’t for the fact that this cult ruins the lives of millions of people, it would be hilariously funny.
