They were rescoued from scrapping and placed at Garnes in 1985.
Two of the type 64 EMUs (BM 64.05 and BM 64.06) are kept as a museum objects and one of them (BM 64.05) is now being restored at Garnes near Bergen. The class BM64 had 3 brake systems which was rather unusual in the early 1930s. The reason for this was the steep Hardanger line which connected the Bergen line at Voss and the small resort and ferry port Granvin by the scenic Hardanger Fjord. The line was similar to the Flåm line with respect to the steep grades and tight curves. Today the Hardanger line is "taken over" by the road and all the atmospheric charm has more or less disappeared. The BM64s was wooden made cars covered by aluminium plates.
