Hello, my name is Stine, and this is my church steeple. (Um..not really)
I am a 26 years old girl, who lives in little, dull Norway, in the north of Europe. There's not much to it really.
My interests include music (I play electric guitar, but not
very good, to be honest I suck), Monty Python, roller coasters,
an actor named Eric Stoltz, computers, but as you should know by
now, my biggest interest in life is R.E.M. And this is what this
site is about, mainly. On the net, I go by the name of "Ms.
Meat Science". I've been a fan of R.E.M. since Monster came
out, in '94, and a collector since around'96.
My collection now consists of
about 250 shows on CD's and tapes, 70 vinyl records and 40 video
tapes. (In addition to the albums and CD-singles and stuff..) My
greatest moments (so far) have been meeting the band members on 4
or 5 different occations, and seeing them live in concert 10
times. (Since UP came out, I have seen them 9 times, and that is
quite an achievment, right? RIGHT!) But much of this I couldn't
have done without the help from some of my good friends and fellow R.E.M.
fans........
The biggest pride of my collection is the UP cd, which I got the band and the tour musicians to sign for me at different occations. And the Hib-Tone single, even if it's the 2nd pressing.
In June 2000 I did the pilgrimage to Athens, GA. A trip I did again in 2001.

As R.E.M. had their 20th anniversary on April 5th 2000, I thought I should do something special, so that day I got a tattoo of the bear head from Monster on my left shoulder. This is a photo of the actual tattoo, I have no idea why my skin looks so orange! |
I am quite a fan of Mike Mills, not only because he is a great bass player, piano player, has a beautiful voice etc., but most of all because he is A NICE, DOWN-TO-EARTH GUY!
This god damn awful picture was taken at the hotel the band was staying in, in Oslo, Norway on March 13 1999. (The day after they played on the "Wiese" show.) I rented a room there just to meet the guys. It proved to be a smart thing to do, because there were only me and a few other fans (and friends of mine) there. I showed this picture to Mike on a later occasion, and he signed it for me.
