About
me....
I
was born in Nordfjord, Western Norway. There I had my raise and publicschool
until the family moved to Ulvik in Hardanger in 1977
After more schools and military service and a short period in Bodø,
I moved to Oslo, the capitol, in 1988. My daily work is mostly
withing graphic designs and production.
My artistic development startet with photo. I bought my first camera
when I was 10 years, and soon I discovered the fantastic and mystique
world of colors, shades, contrast and composition of the medium.
Later I started to make sketches, they were not that nice, but after
a while I bought my first oilcolors and started experimenting with them.
I found out that using oilcolors I was able to make things and images
that would be impossible to make with an camera.
I
soon spesialized in a style I have named "multipicture-oilpaintings".
If you take a look at you will see what I mean. They are inspired by
old russian carpets, but also a lot of both Edvard Munch and J.W. Turner.
The
last 5 years I have arranged an yearly exhibition, two of them in the
stairway to my appartment, others on cafees around in Oslo.
The last 10 years I have been using Macintosh in graphic production,
and afterwards I got good skills in using Photoshop. With the new versions
the strength in this tool makes it possible to use it in making art.
My photolike pictures is in fact old photos I have shot around on holidays,
and then been manipulated both mechanical and digital. And also colored
with coffee! The endresult is reproduced using an Canon CLC 100 and
acidfree paper, lito or aquarel.
In 2001 I will have a lot of small exhibitions around on different cafees
and restaurants known for showing interesting art.
