Pussy willows. I played with the close-focus capabilites of the lens with this motif. One can go pretty close with this lens, compared to the old M-400/5.6. However, this is allowed at the expense of a constant focal width, AFAIK. Some mathematically inclined members of PDML calculated that at closeups, the actual focal width would go down to some 360-370mm... -Not very precise, I know. But IMO, the advantages of close focussing outweigh the loss of focal witdh by the mass of a medium sized planet. "Pussy willows" is one of the dearest signs of spring in Norway. Actually, it's the flowers of the trees in the genus Salix. These are male flowers. Tech: FA*400/5.6 at f/6.7, 1/500 s. freehand. Film: Agfa RSX 200 |
