You can't order the CD directly from us.

Here's some reviews of the CD:
Here's some notes about the songs and how we recorded them

1   Dockery Moan I - Reitan/Hansen

When the recording session started getting closer to the end, we had feeling that something was missing ,something primitive and rural. John Ivar took a look around his garage and found a two by four and some wire, and knocked together a one stringed Diddley Bow. The "instrument" was leaned against the studio door for the recording to achieve more bass and resonance. After some improvisation, part I and part II were recorded.
Instruments: Diddley Bow

2   Fixin' To Die - Booker T. Washington (Bukka White)
This is the first song we heard by Bukka White on a CD compilation. Bukka White was one of the pre-war artists that got a well-deserved revival in the 60's. He was one of the few that maintained his power in his older age. The song is from 1940.
Instruments: Tricone, G-tuning

3   Take Sick And Die - trad. Arr
We're not quite sure were we got this from. Muddy Waters has one version, but I think we got the complete lyrics from a CD compilation "Living Blues". Someone has borrowed the CD from Bacon so we couldn't check. Whoever got it. Give it back!!
Instruments: Landola 12-string. Harp by Geir Bertheussen and percussion; Håvard Sterten

4   Crow Stomp Blues - Reitan/Hansen
This is the first song we've made ourselves after going acoustic in 1999. Bacons self-experienced lyrics was quickly combined with Johnnie's fingerpicking blues inspired melody. He admits Blind Wille McTell inspired it.
Instruments: Continental Tricone, Dropped-D tuning

5   I Love My Baby- Tommy McClennan
This 'un is by Tommy McClennan. Recorded originally in 1942, just before they stopped making records during the war. This is one of our favourites and a crowd pleaser.
Instruments: Landola12-string. Piano, tambourine and bass drum by Frank Scott

6   See That My Grave Is Kept Clean - Blind Lemon Jefferson
This is one of the best-known Blind Lemon Jefferson songs. He was one of the most famous pre-war blues artists. He recorded this song in several versions, first in 1928.
It was actually only recently raised a descent headstone on his grave from money raised by contemporary artists
Instruments: Continental Tricone, D-tuning. Djembe; Håvard Sterten.

7   Spoonful - Willie Dixon
Willie Dixon was the most famous songwriter in the heydays of the Chicago blues.
We've "deltafied" this one. Originally an old blues theme that Dixon recycled to Howlin' Wolf.  We salute you both.
Instruments: Continental Tricone, G-tuning.

8   Big Road Blues - Tommy Johnson
Made by Tommy Johnson. Recorded in 1928. He was one of the really great artists from the Delta. A lot of people have covered Big Road, but we just had to play this song 'cause it's to damn good.
Instruments: Gibson LG-2, dropped-D tuning.

9   Alabama Blues - Robert Wilkins
Knut Reiersrud covered this song by Robert Wilkins, and for a long time we've been searching for the original. Robert Wilkins recorded it in 1929.
Instruments: Gibson LG-2

10 Retribution Blues - Reitan/Hansen
We needed more of our own songs. Bacon started looking through old lyric sheets from the time when we played in our bluesband "Blues Medicine". He found this one. Mostly written by John Ivar. After some fooling around this version came out and was recorded immediately.
Instruments: Tricone, G-tuning.

11 Hot Tamales (They're Red Hot) - Robert Johnson

This is the obligatory Robert Johnson track. Not the most obviously choice but a fun "hokum" song. Bacon plays jug and kazoo with a feeling. Fake 78 sound was put on the intro and on the kazoo solo
Instruments: 12-string. Jug and Kazoo by Bacon. Percussion by Håvard Sterten.

12 Long Black Train - Reitan/Hansen
This is a track written especially for the album. The working title for the album was actually for along time Long Black Train. John Ivar wrote the first three verses and Bacon continued. Terrific train sounds on the harmonica solo by "No Fish"
Instruments: Tricone, G-tuning. Harp by Geir "No Fish" Bertheussen and percussion by Håvard Sterten.

13 Future Blues - Willie Brown
Wille Brown recorded only two songs in 1930. He recorded a lot more songs as a sideman for Charlie Patton in 1930 and later with Son House in the early 40's. This song is clearly inspired by one of Pattons signature melodies. We choose however to give our tribute to Willie Brown.
Instruments: Tricone, G-tuning.

14 You Gotta Move - Mississippi Fred McDowell
McDowell was a master of the slide guitar. He recorded this one in the 60's. The guitar used on the recording originally belonged to John Ivar`s granddad, bought around 1900. The sound of the recording is also a bit distorted to add some grit and atmosphere to simulate a field recording.
Instruments: Noname acoustic guitar, G-tuning

15 Decay In Me - Reitan/Hansen
In lack of original songs for the album, Bacon put himself in the creative mood a week before our recording sessions and made this one. A moody song and some dark lyrics a bit inspired by John Campbell. The Tricone is in Campbell and Hill Country tradition played through a guitar amp.
Instruments: Tricone, D minor-tuning. Harp and percussion by "No Fish" and Håvard

16 Dockery Moan Part II - Reitan/Hansen

17 John The Revelator - trad. Arr
We've started doing this one live in 2000 after hearing Son House's terrific version from the 60's.
We decided to try to do a bit more on the album version and added a drum loop and some sampled sounds.
Instruments: Bacon. Drum loop and sampling by Frank. Backing vocals; Frank, John Ivar and Bacon.
Samples in Windows mediaplayer format can be found here:
