It also spawned a  massive sporadic E event .
With a big opening to G, PA ,DL,
27 Days later we had a repeat aurora but no sporadic

Due to the doppler shift signals can be heavily distorted making ssb very hard to copy.
While vhf often improves,
Hf will really get knocked about, with often very poor conditions for days on end.
Because of the suns rotation an aurora will often repeat on a 27 day cycle,
which makes auroral dxing somewhat predictable.
