Southern Records has a page for the Grifters as well.
Sonicnet's Grifters Page, a good collection of info, some really bad quality sound samples, links that go nowhere, a BB with one post. BUT fan reviews and the Last Man Alive Vid.
Check out Grunnenrocks Grifters page, they also have a page for Hot Monkey.
Tripp sent me this link to Dan Ball's page. He is sort of the Grifters Photographer. Great page, check it out.

Some Norwegian Bands
Seriously, check these bands out, they are really good.
| Motorpsycho | These guys are my favorite Norwegian band. I just bought an album to
have a Norwegian band in my collection. I was blown away . . . they are
definitely in my Top 5 now. Reminds me of early Grifters, if they had taken the time
and cash to make slick recordings. But Motorpsycho's sound is far from slick, lots
of layered guitars, lots of spacey sound effects ( which actually work here ), good lyrics
. . . a great, great band. Played at SXSW in '99 in Austin. . . Great great
musicians, I just can't say enough about these guys. This page is in English. |
| Kåre and the Cavemen | What do you get when you combine California Surf Rock and Norwegain Death
Metal? Outside of Norway, they're known as the Euroboys . . . Guess they felt that no one would take Kåre and the Cavemen seriously . . . Good music though, check 'em out. |
| Seigman | On the light side of the Norwegian death metal scene, but still very heavy. They are broken up though, story is that they decided that if one quit, the rest would fold also. The drummer quit. |
| Madrugada an English page |
If you like The Tindersticks and Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds, these guys are for you. |
| My EX-Girlfriends favorite band. Good, thick. melancholy guitar rock. This sight has a lot of sound bytes, take a look. | |
| Dipsomaniacs | These guys are new to me, sound a lot like Neutral Milk Hotel and The Olivia Tremor Control. |
| A-Ha | That's right the princes of the Norwegian music scene are back. |
| Grounded | My old band <sigh> those were the days. Its perpetually under construction, but keep checking back, they're a lot better now that I have moved on. |
( if you find anything very interesting, I'll be glad to buy and send CD's just send me an email, we could make a trade of it )
