Gary's Action Zone
------------------------
Welcome!
------------------------
All continents in the world are now represented. It's great to see Gary's music enjoyed by so many people.
I have moved number of subscribers to Fanzine info, and it will be updated each issue as normally.
I have compiled the Your Favorite tracks with Gary, which is this issue's feature.
As you see of this issue, there are some less material than in normal issues. Well, who wants to sit inside with computer all summer! Not you or me, I easily see that from the small amount of sumbmissions you send me. But we will be back stronger and with more info in next issue.
I hope you will enjoy this issue as well.
I will be on holiday from the 3rd to 17th of August, so any 'urgently' mails will not be answered then. If you have any mails you want to send go ahead, I will answer them when I am back.
Next issue planned Week 36.
Best regards.......
Ole-Johan

3. SUBMISSIONS - QUESTIONS &
ANSWERS

From: pkendall@wave.co.nz (Paul Kendall)
Subject: Re: GAZ - Discussion for
Submissions
Hi,
Firstly, thanks a lot for the copies of GAZ. They are very informative and interesting to read for a Gary Moore freak. Keep up the good work!!
>Topic 1: SUBJECT: GAZ - GARY IS LOSING
THE GRIP? Did Gary peak after
>he made 'Still Got The Blues album'?
Or did he peak before or after that
>>album?
Before I answer this question I should
point out that I am more of a fan of Gary's rock career than his
blues career. IMO Gary reached his peak in 1985-1987 with the release
of "Run For Cover" and "Wild Frontier". I believe these two CDs highlight
Gary's song writing ability and tremendous guitar playing at their best.
He was at the top of his game, so to speak.
>Is it something you miss in those last album Tell us WHY!
Like I say I prefer Gary playing hard rock so I guess that's what's missing. Don't get me wrong, I do like his last 2 studio releases and I respect him for playing what he loves - blues.
>Topic 2: SUBJECT: GAZ - NEW ALBUM
>What would you like Gary to play
on the new album?
Hmm, I don't know anything about his new album. What I'd really like Gary to do is to return to playing more rock-orientated music but I know that's not going to happen. As long as Gary still making music I'll buy it.
Finally, a question to anyone that knows. Being down here in New Zealand my Gary Moore-related news is limited. With the change is direction in Gary's career what ever happened to Neil Carter and Bob Daisley? Are they playing in a band at present? Just curious.
Cheers,
Paul
Comment from Ole-Johan:
I read in 'Melodic Moore' that Neil
Carter was back teaching music in UK.
This was what Bob Daisley told 'Melodic
Moore', they was not mentioning what Bob Daisley was up to.
Info about Bob Daisley:
Comment from Tomoyuki:
Not a lot, apart from the fact that
he was a member of a one-off project called MOTHER'S ARMY, featuring Joe
Lynn Turner, Carmine Appice and Jeff Watson (now with the reformed Nightranger),
and put out one album circa '93. Since then, they have recorded the
second album, which remains unreleased till this day. I have no idea
what he's been doing recently.I have discussed the subject with Carmine
Appice when he came over to Japan, and he told me that he was so tied up
with the _GUITAR ZEUS_ project he didn't have the time to run around to
secure a contract for MOTHER'S ARMY II. By the way, he was really
glad when I gave him a copy of _COCA COLA COMMERCIALS_ CD, with Vanilla
Fudge (featuring Jeff Beck), and later sent me a thanks fax.

Subject: Re:Submissions - Trade
Hi all,
I already own the solo cd album Disappearances
Can Be Deceptive from ex Lone Star/Gaz Moore vocalist JOHN SLOMAN
but I understand that there is a shelved album that is around of more "rocky"
material that was recorded before Disappearances. If anyone has this Id
kill for a copy. I am also after any other demo's/recordings that Sloman
has been invoved with?
Does anyone know wot the majorly under-rated
Sloman is up to?
Last I heard he was touring the world as a backing vocalist with Paul Young, but that was years ago!
Congrats on the zine - its quite fabbo!!!!
Best wishes from Australia
john dokken
Comments from Ole-Johan:
There is a CD bootleg with John Sykes
called 'Blonde and Dangerous' featuring 4 songs with John Sloman &
John Sykes. Featuring tracks are 'Laughiung In Your Face', 'Not Guilty',
'Which One Will Save Us Now' & 'Lost Without Your Love'.
