Preservation Calculator for Photo Storage - Estimates for how long you can expect your album pictures to last, based on temperature and humidity. It only gives an indication because there are other factors.
TwipIt - A calculator for converting twip to pixels, cm, inch and more and vice-versa.
Schärfentiefe-, Abbildungsmaßstab- und Nahlinsenrechner - If you understand a little german this is a useful and complete calculator for photography.
f/Calc - A versatile calculator for photographic formulas.
Depth of Field - Calculates depth of field based on lens aperture and focal length. Downloadable from FreewareTips Rareware-page.
DOFMaster - Use to calculate depth of field and to print depth of field calculators for photographic lenses.
Barnack - A program for learning about the intrinsic camera parameters and their effect on the hyperfocal distance, depth of field, field of view, et cetera.
Astrophotography Calculator - Calculates exposures for astronomical photographs.
Dead Pixel Test - A tool to check your digital camera for dead and hot pixels.
DPI-Counter - A graphic utility that calculate and give you info about expected print quality, expected print size and more. German program and site, click "Software" in the menu at the left side of the page.
PhoCalc - A simple program for calculating DPI (dots per inch), print sizes and megapixels. Useful to determine the size needed for quality prints or posters. Alternative download at the FreewareTips download page.
SW/RGB Analyse (Farbentester) - This tool finds the portion of BW and color in image files (BMP, JPG, PNG). For instance useful when printing high circulation. German software, but it´s very small and easy.
JpgQ - Estimates the quality of JPEGs (the quality they were last saved in).
ReJPEG - Visually shows how different levels of recompression will affect a photo or other image, redisplay the image at any compression level, save the image as a JPEG once an optimal level is found. It can also graph the filesize and image quality at each compression level, and view the differences between the original image and the current recompressed image. ExifToolGUI - A tool for viewing/editing meta(exif)-data inside image files. It is able to edit image files in batch, for example useful if the camera clock has been wrong and all the pictures then have the wrong time.
Exif Viewer - Gives access to the exif data contained in digital pictures and is able to export it into text- or excel files, write the exif-date into the fileproperties, edit date and time and more.
Noiseware Community Edition (this is the free version) - A noise suppression software tool designed to decrease or eliminate noise from digital photo.
Neat Image - A digital filter application designed to reduce visible noise in digital photographic images. Choose the Demo version.
Picture Cooler - Another fine noise reduction and sharpening tool. Somewhat limited as free version.
SharpControl - A tool to sharpen images that allows great control over the sharpening process and offers a good preview of the end result. Downloadable from FreewareTips Rareware-page.
ShiftN - This utility does automatic correction of converging lines.
JPG-Illuminator - A german program for the correction of illumination, perspective distortion, colours and more.
PerCor - A program for the rectification of perspective distortion.
RadCor - A utility for correction of radial distortion in images induced by the camera lens.
GML Undistorter - A tool to correct lens distortion.
CastCor - A program to reduce color cast in pictures.
LuminCor - A program for correcting image illumination.
Wire Pilot Lite - Allows to remove wires and other unwanted linear objects such as posts, antennas from a photo.
S10 RedEyes - A tool to remove red eyes in your digital photos.
Rot'n'Stack - Take several images and merge them with this program to enhance the contrast. Mainly intended for astro-photography.
Art Plus Digital Photo Recovery - A utility to recover lost images from corrupted or accidentally formatted digital camera memory cards. Supports all types of memory cards and the file formats JPG, TIF and more. A User Manual can be downloaded.
VisiPics - Finds and deletes your duplicate picture files. Can look for similar pictures - not only identical, and displays duplicates side by side.
DeltaLab (Deltaview) - A tool for processing images from digital cameras with perspective correction, print format cutting, over-exposure warning, free angle rotation + more. German download site, but english program.
WPanorama - Displays panoramic pictures by letting them scroll horizontally or vertically on the screen. Many nice panorama-pictures can also be downloaded from the program site.
Panorama Viewer - Through spherical distortion and animation of the image, the program simulates a threedimensional effect of panoramic scenes.
Panorama Factory - A program for stitching pictures together to make a panoramic picture. This is an old freeware version.
Interactive Digital Photomontage - Utilizes multiple photos of a scene, taken with a digital camera, in which some aspect of the scene or camera parameters varies with each photo. These photographs are then pieced together, to create a single photograph that better conveys the scene.
Image Inc. - A software to blend existing images in a very fast and easy way, using a layer mask for transparency.
FotoMix - Allows you to mix and manipulate different pictures, e.g., design photo collages.
Fotowall - Make photo arrangements with this program.
FrameFun - A simpel application to frame images. Options to adjust frame/border size, color and effects like shadow, vignette, oval shape and more.
PhotoFilmStrip - Creates slideshow movies out of your pictures with the effect known as "Ken Burns".
PhotoCDBrowser - A slideshow maker with full screen viewing, transition effects, backgroundmusic (mp3), comment option and more. A standalone that can be run from a CD, Usb drive or other removable media without leaving any traces on the host computer. Edit the program settings in a text(ini) file. An eastern european site, but the program and helpfile is in english.
IrfanView, XnView, PhotoFiltre, The Gimp - Four good and well-known image viewers/editors.
Xero Graphics, 8bf.net, MV's Plugins, Mehdi plugins - Four sites with some nice Photoshop compatible plugins. The plugins can be used with many different graphics programs for example IrfanView and XnView.

Publishing/Graphic:

TKexe - Create personal photo calendars with this program. It features free layout and options for adding birthdays, holidays, text boxes, backgroundcolor and more. Can also be used to create photo presentations.
CalendarPainter - Software to make personal Photo calendars (1, 3 or 12 months per sheet). Options to enter picturename, birthdays and holidays.
PrintMaster Express - Publishing software to create brochures, different kinds of cards and more. This is an old freeware version. Downloadable at the FreewareTips download page.
Scribus- An advanced layout/publishing-program. Gives the user great flexibility in placing images, logos, text and more exactly there it is wanted. Create nice documents including things like brochures, greeting cards, CD-cover, newsletters and posters, export to PDF and more.
RagTime Solo - An advanced publishing program with rich layout capabilities - to design photo albums, travel diaries, invitations, cards and much more.
Just Right Click Greeting Card - A simpel application to create your own greetingcards.
V Badge Lite - Create and print ID cards, business cards, labels or greeting cards. The software will automatically arrange cards on the paper according to your settings.
Rayfilm Printer - A labelling software for labels, cards, photos or calendar printing. In predefined patterns you create label design importing pictures, drawing semigraphic objects, text, designing barcodes, etc. Create personalized calendars.
Passfoto Manager - An application that allows you to print your own passport-photos. It prints 30 passport-photos on an A4 sheet. German site and program.
YouColor! - A software to help you make your own personalized coloring/painting book pages from your digital camera pictures or any image from a bmp- or jpg file. Creates an image with lines that shows the boundaries between different color regions in the color image.
Photo Print CD Jacket - Generates handy thumbnail overviews of your images that fit the size of a CD jewel case, so you can see at a glance what the discs contain. This makes it easy to keep track of your digital image CDs. You can print several types of jackets to fit exactly into the CD case size, including index cards with thumbnails of the images in CD and back cards for the rear side. CBN Selector - A utility that let you swap colors in an image where all nuances, for example light- and shadow effects remain. You can amongst others use the program to see how a particular color should look if you painted your home. This is the last freeware version. The download site is swedish, but the program is english - click the "INSTALLERA"-button.
Creature House Expression 3 - A vector- based stylish drawing and illustration software. The download site is french, but it is an english program - click the "télécharger"-button.
Graph Paper Printer - A software designed to print numerous kinds of graph papers, music manuscripts and pattern papers, with user-defined sizes and colors.
HSB Grapher - An application for making scientific graphs.
TeeChart-Office - A software for creating graphic Charts easily and quickly. It includes dozens of chart types in 2 or 3 dimensions for a wide range of applications in fields varying from statistics to business, science to finance.

Gif/Animation:

Microsoft Gif Animator - Make your own Gif-animations (ClipArt).
Ulead Gif Animator - Much larger and more advanced Gif animator with better quality. The freeware version is an older edition.

Screen:

EzMagnifier - Enlarges a selected part of the screen. Useful for having a closer look at details and very small characters.
Dragnifier - As last, but the magnifier is dragged by the cursor.
Color Cop - A color picker that shows you the code of a color in rgb, html hex and other values. Features an eyedropper, magnifier, color history and more.
DotColor - A simpel and small color picker featuring: Hex-, rgb-, CMYK values, zoom, copying the colorcode or part of the screen to the clipboard, and a mixer.
Colour Theme Helper - This program allows you to choose one colour (hue) and pick lighter/darker, more or less saturated etc. Gives that values in HSB, RGB and HEX for insertion into webpages.
JR Screen Ruler - A ruler to measure pixel, inch and cm on the screen both horisontal and vertical.
Mihov Blank Screen - Tests the quality of the screen.
Dead Pixel Buddy - Tests LCD screens.
SDC - A simpel application to manage wallpapers. Put your pictures in a list and easily change wallpapers with the additional "change.exe" utility (make a shortcut on the desktop). Consumes no system resources but for image change. Downloadable from FreewareTips Rareware-page.
Screen-Saver Suspender - Disables the screensaver. Useful when running longlasting tasks or scheduled.
NoSleep! - Use to deactivate the screensaver to enjoy DVDs without interruptions or to run the Disk Defragmenter undisturbed.
PD-Recording - A very funny screensaver. Enable when you leave your computer for a while, and others "sneak looking" at your screen will get a big surprise!
dbd-Warning - A frightening screensaver! It looks like your PCs life may be over.
Breathtaking Photos, InterfaceLIFT - Two sites there you can find some nice wallpapers for your desktop.
Nap 'n Coffee - Makes your PC look busy pretending filecopying, virusscanning, backup etc. A good excuse for taking a break!

Icon:

FolderIcons - Changes the yellow folder icons with any other icon. Also able to revert them back to original. Drag and drop the icon you want into the program window or select from the open dialog in the file menu (change here the file type from "Icon Libraries" to "All Files" to select a single icon).
Iconoid - Makes the icontexts transparent and the icons and taskbar to disappear (they appear again when touching the mouse).

Roll 'm Up - A realistic pinball game with great graphics for 1 to 4 players, and including music and soundeffects.
Trap Pinball - A pinball game where two players can play simultaneously.

aReaker - A different type of pinball game.
Pong Project - A pong game for up to 4 players (also versus computer), and with lots of effects.

Dart 'm Up - A dart game with super graphics and with music/soundeffects.

Web E-mail Cloaker - Encodes the contact address (email) at your website. Select either simple encoding or advanced javascript cloaking (even more secure), to prevent harvesting by spammers.
Blackman's E-mail encoder - Make contact addresses ("mailto-links") with four options; from simpel non-coded up to JavaScript. Includes an option to use an image as a link too.
Xenu's Link Sleuth - A utility that check websites for broken links (both internal and external). Can produce a report.
Weblink Checker - Checks the internal links on your webpages.
Web Design Toy - Practice Html-coding. Write html-code i the left pane and immediately view the result in the right pane (as it will look in a browser).
Map This - A program to create clickable image maps in webpages. Attach link references to different areas of the image. Alternative download site.
sTile - A seamless tile creator software. Make web backgrounds, wallpapers etc.
FTP Commander - A simple and easy ftp utility with two side by side panels for local computer and ftp server. Just drag and drop between the panes.
HTML-Kit - A full-featured editor designed to help HTML, XHTML and XML authors to edit, format, lookup help, validate, preview and publish web pages. Also support for several scripting and programming languages.
KompoZer - For WYSIWYG web page editing.
HTML stripper - Simply removes Html codes that are not necessary for local use, in webpages. These will then often function better.
Easy Text To HTML Converter - Conversion of text files and text pasted from clipboard to HTML.
DeKnop - Create buttons for your website. Select the text, font style, color, 3D bevel, size, gradients, mouse over and many other aspects.

WebSiteZip Packer - An application which will help you turn a single HTML page or a group of pages into a solid executable file (.exe) with an integrated HTML browser.

E-mail:

POP Peeper - An email notifier that alerts (many notification options) when you have new email on your account. Messages can be viewed in rich or plain text or using HTML. Messages can be sent from the program, also with attachments.
PopMan - Lists e-mails received on the incoming mail server (POP3, IMAP) without having to load these mails completely. Unwanted e-mails can be deleted directly from the server. The program offers a preview option, can check for new mails in the background and can also download to "txt" or "eml" format and start your default mail program.

Clipboard:

Yankee Clipper III - Can catch and save 200 textclips + 20 images + 200 URLs from the clipboard and sort them in categories, also permanent saving supplementing this. Alternative download site.

Textediting:

TextDiff - Compares text files and color highlight differences, also features merging, editing, undo and search and replace.
WinMerge - A program for visual comparison of text- and binary files, color highlight differences and includes common editing features and merging.
PureText - Converts rich text on the clipboard to plain text. Useful when you copy for instance from a webpage, Word doc. and must paste in plain text.
Text2Html - Converts from "txt"-format to Html.
Text To PDF - Simpel converting from "txt"-format to Pdf.
Rich2Web - A batch RTF (rich text format) to HTML converter. Click "Products" to the left at the program site.
Bitmap Font Writer - The program combines bitmap fonts the way you define. Some fonts are included and if you need extra small characters try HollménNeutron (click "Products" to the left at the homepage).
PrimoPDF - Convert your documents to Pdf format by "printing" to PrimoPDF (the software installs like a printer).
TextGrabber - A little application to copy the textual information out of windows that are difficult or impossible to copy.
eTextReader - Displays text in a two-page book-like style. You can change colors, font style and size, page margins, set bookmarks, create a table of contents, search the text for substrings or edit it with an internal editor and more. Opens plain text files and imports RTF and HTML files.
Transcript - A utility to simplify making transcriptions of old documents (digital images of documents) to an editable text document. It does not convert the image to text (OCR).

File management:

FreeCommander - A dual pane file manager with optional fade in tree-view for each panel. Amongst others a very useful thumbnail viewing of pictures that can be copied or moved to the other pane via drag and drop. Can be run from a remote media.
xplorer² lite - An efficient file and information manager with dual pane and tree structure-view.
QVerify - A tool to verify data after copying to Cd, pendrives and other removable media or internally on the harddrive. Compares byte for byte. Is able to compare individual files, folders or disks.
TestPath - As over, but only compares folders and disks.
Regshot - Makes a report about what is happening in the system when you install software.
RegSeeker - A powerful registry cleaner (remember to backup, and know what you are doing when you delete something). Can also search the registry, show startup- and installed programs and more.
WebVersions - Keep track of the difference between Software versions on your PC and the Internet. The program will check all the programs in its list (customizable) to see if there are newer versions on the internet.
The File Splitter - Separates large files to fit discettes and other media, and creates an executable to join them again.
FileMerger - Merge any files into one file (e.g. merge downloaded webpage documents). Downloadable from FreewareTips Rareware-page.
Burn To The Brim - A utility that can select a group of files/folders which optimally fills a writeable CD or other medium (or multiple CDRs/media).
7-Zip - Unpack or pack files with this two pane file archiver, includes support for many formats.
Rename Master - A utility to add, remove or replace parts of a filename for large groups of files, for example image- and musicfiles. Easy to use interface and features preview, undo and more.
FreeExtractor - A simple and tiny application to create self-extracting archives with features like making an introduction text, create a folder for the extracted files if it does not exist, select automatic extraction to a default path and more.
Universal Extractor - Extract files from any type of archive, e.g. zip, exe or msi package.
SyncBack Freeware - A backup and synchronization tool.
Recuva - A utility to restore files that have been accidentally deleted.
Unlocker - If there are files or folders that cannot be deleted in Windows the normal way, you can try this program.

Search/Database:

InfoRapid Search & Replace - Let you search for text in nearly any file with several search combinations and highlights the search results. It´s also able to replace text strings and more.
KeyNote - A tabbed and tree-type notebook - the idea is that you can include many separate notes within a single file. Featuring text formatting, hyperlinks, import/export, encryption and more.
SEO Note - Save all your notes easily organized in one file. Includes editing, tree structure- and tab organizing and more.
Unicat Editor LE - Create catalogues with tree structure organizing for books, Cd/Video or whatever you want.
GoldenSection Notes - A simpel notebook storing both text- and graphical information in a tree-structured form. Features text formatting and more. This is the last Freeware version.
MemPad - A small program for taking notes and organise them in a structured index. Only for text. Includes password protection, backup and more.
ToDo Reminder - Create a to-do list with this program of things to do, events, appointments etc. Set priorities and reminder alarms.
Disk Explorer Professional - An application for cataloging CDs, DVDs or other removable media, hard disks, network drives and FTP servers. The application can work with all file types for example over 40 image file formats and several audio formats. Thumbnails of your picture collection and ID3 tags from music files can be viewed without the removable media being available. Also includes a search function, compression, password protection and more.
FileAmigo LE - Create databases and reports for projects, membership, maintenance schedules and more.

Password/Crypto:

KeePass - Safe storage of sensitiv data like passwords, bank account information etc. Acknowledged encryption algorithm (Twofish, AES). Does not touch the registry and thus suitable for use on other computers from a removable media.
Password Safe - Safe keeping of passwords etc., uses the Twofish encryption algorithm and is suitable as a portabel utility.
LSN Password Safe - A password manager with integrated spyware protection.
TrueCrypt - Create encrypted disk files, encrypt an entire hard disk or partition. You can then save your sensitive data there in a secure manner.
Protectorion Data Safe - A program for keeping data safe by encrypting confidential files and folders and with the ability to edit and manage them inside the program.
ImageHide - Stenographer, which hides text in images, and that is able to encrypt the text too.
Camouflage - Allows you to hide files inside a file you choose as camouflage. The camouflaged file will look and behave normal, also an option for password protection.
Asterisk Key - Uncovers hidden passwords on password dialog boxes and web pages.

Antispy:

Spybot - Search & Destroy - Can detect and remove spyware of different kinds from your computer, can also clean usage tracks.
WinPatrol - A spyware monitor.
SpywareBlaster - Prevents the installation of spyware and other potentially unwanted software.

Keyboard:

CapsUnLock - Disables the "CapsLock" key.
Aldo's MouseKeyboard - A screen keyboard. It is able to write directly into form fields or just used as an ordinary keyboard.

Audio:

Aldo's Pianito - Tiny keyboard piano with many different sounds. Last freeware version. German site, but english program.
Recall the Melody - Listen to a few tones, and guess and play the following.
Playlistmaker - A simpel application to create playlists for MediaPlayer and others.
FoxPlay - As over, but with more advanced options.
MP3Gain - Analyzes and adjusts MP3 files to the same volume so you don´t have to reach for the volume knob every time your mp3 player changes to a new song.
Bitrate Calculator - Calculates a compressed file's size, datarate, or duration from the other two characteristics. Particularly helpful for determining the rate necessary to fit a specified piece of audio (MP3) into a given storage medium or estimating archive storage requirements for high volume storage.
Exact Audio Copy - Is a so called audio grabber for audio CDs using standard CD and DVD-ROM drives.

Converber - A unit convertor with many different units of measure in more than 40 categories. Converts everything from length and force to flow and temperature.
Quad-Lock Unit Converter - Converts units in a lot of categories. e.g. temperature, length, volum, area, and also has the option to let you create your own units.
Omformaren - Can convert between 401 different units of measure divided in 14 categories.

Uconeer - Convertor with 397 units in 46 categories. Covers all the basic categories but adds engineering specific categories.
EngNet Tools - A unit conversion calculator and engineering dictionary.
AB-Euro - A Currency Calculator which is able to convert between all Euro-based and 35 foreign currencies. Includes simple updating.
EuroConvertor - A tiny, simpel utility for converting between 8 currencies (which you choose from a longer list). Easy update feature with new rates available each day.
DataRelate - Converts between computerrelated units, byte/bit.
AlcoVol - Converts between many different fluid volume units.
WinThermO - Temperature converting and more. Nice interface.
LigthningCalc - Calculate the distance (in miles) after providing the current outside temperature and the time from the flash of lightning to the clap of thunder.
DewPoint Calculator - Illustrates the interrelation of temperature, RH and dew point, and allows you to analyze storage- and display environments for different types of collections.
Ratio Calculator - Compare video sizes, find out which resolutions are mathematically possible + more.
Calendar Magic - A very informative program containing several different calculators, calendars, alarm, time and much more.
Geometry Calculator - Calculates area, volume, diameters of several different geometric shapes, e.g. sylinder, triangle, circles and many more.
Geometry - Similar as last, but more advanced with additional geometric figures, trigonometry and more. Tips: Double click on the name of the figure to get to the calculator window.
FractionCalc - Fraction calculating, also conversion between fraction and decimal.
Excalibur - An advanced calculator with 300 functions. Scientific, business, conversion, physics, geometry etc.
GraphCalc - A graphic calculator that combines all the features of a professional mathematics package.
pd-TinyCalc - A small calculator with sounds.
Bicycle Ride Calorie Calculator - Provides a good estimate of the number of calories burned on a bicycle ride based on time, distance, rider weight, drafting and climbing.
MikkoStep - If you have a pedometer that merely counts steps, this program provides an easy way to estimate the distance you've travelled. Click "Products" to the left at the program site.
FinitySoft BMI Calculator - Calculates the body mass index, ideal weight and puts your data on dynamic chart. Both metric and english system supported.

EniG. Periodic Table of the Elements - Displays the periodic table with a lot of information.
Periodic Table - The application displays the periodic table along with images of the elements as well as lots of other information.
Radiation Decay - Provides radioactive decay information for more than 3000 radionuclides, the periodic system and more.
Carbon 14 Dating Calculator - An online Calculator for Carbon 14 dating.
Roadkil's Loan Calculator - Calculate your loan repayments, totalinterest payments and savingsinformation. (Select the "Calculators" category at the program site).
Loan Calculator - Estimate your loan payments, option to export results to Html or Exel.

Time:

SP TimeSync - Connects to a time server (atomic time) and adjusts the PC-clock accurately. Your nearest time server is probably the best. Look in the helpfile for info about finding one.
SymmTime - A convenient multi-zone desktop clock that displays the current time in different parts of the world, it features time synchronization too.
MP3-PizzaTimer - A Timer that counts down and plays your favourite music to remind you.
Calendar - A small calendar program that can display one month or whole year with holidays and yearly events for several countries.
No Frills Timer - A small and simple program that keeps track of number of calls and connection time on the internet, both current session and total over a selfdefined period and logs the information.

Dictionary:

Freelang Dictionary - A dictionary software with approximately 90 dictionaries available for download with english as the basic language. Translations can be edited and added.
WordWeb - A comprehensive english dictionary with good explanations of the words.
LingoPad - An offline dictionary which contains a German - English dictionary; other dictionaries (Spanish, Italian, French, Japanese, Chinese, Turkish, Kurdish, Norwegian or Arabic) can be downloaded as well.

Miscellaneous:

Amiglobe 98 - The last freeware atlas. Not as good as commercial ones, but absolutely useful with a lot of information about countries.
