Kia Ora - J-Day Auckland

Auckland had a dry day if not a little gusty making joint rolling difficult for the punters I saw making up mini tents
with their jackets.

Approximately 2000 supporters arrived throughout the day. The beginning was a little scary when we had no sound due to a blown fuse. Fortunately we had a few drummers to make some comfort noise and a true Wildman whip cracker, cracking three bull whips at the crowd.

Nandor dropped a great speech on the people calling again for those facing possession charges to clog the system.
Mike Harding let out his mighty roar telling his tale of bust and woe. Mike Finlayson put into laymen's terms why we should clog the system , highlighting the fact that it is racist ( "if your polynesian or maori your fucked") and biased and calling on all those available to give court support for roaring lions.

Switched On Gardener showed awesome support by hosting the Growers Ironman and the 4.20 Rolling competition which was judged by Nick from SOG, Vic from the Hempstore and Nandor Tanczos MP. Much to their disappointment both Nandor and Victoria were unable to enter due to their status as judges.

The Hempstore provided a raffle with three prizes, the first being a 50cm Peace Pipe, second a 2-way "vase" and the final
prize was a large wooden grinder. Alannagh from the Hempstore drew this prize with trustworthy Nandor. The Peace pipe winner was over the moon. More information on these events are on the NORML website under J-day Reports.

With a fantastic lineup of true reggae/dub DJ's , live bands and funk, the music expressed the true peace loving mood of
the day. All reports came back good and of course EVERYONE WAS SMILING.

See ya
