Security clampdown foiled as Medical Marijuana Barbie Streaks Oxford Street

On day three of her quest to deliver a Cannabis Valentine to Prince Charles and free Colin Davies, Medical Marijuana Barbie took part in the honourable British tradition of streaking and bared it all for a crowd of thousands on Oxford Street.

With the help of a donated ladder, the performing artist from New York climbed atop a bus stop to show her support for the world wide campaign to legalise cannabis and to ask for the release of Colin Davies, medical marijuana patient and inmate of Strangeways Prison in Manchester, UK.

The irrepressible MMB, complete with diamond studded tiara, entertained a crowd of thousands as she stripped to loud cheers and applause, revealing a handpainted marijuana leaf where a fig leaf should be and the slogan
'Medical Marijuana' inscribed on her bum.
Cars hooted, office workers leaned out of windows, and all shopping ceased as she waved her 'Free Marijuana' banner and shouted 'FREE COLIN DAVIES'. Even a passing female bus driver cheered her support at the transformation of a normal bus stop into a live stage show.

With the sound of police sirens approaching, MMB descended from her bus stop stage and vanished, as the crowd cheered for more. Unfortunately her diamond studded tiara got lost in the fray, but without doubt, MMB had made her mark.

Background:

Tracy Blevins earned her doctorate at the University of Texas Houston Medical School in 1999. She developed a character called Medical Marijuana Barbie and a one woman show called The Medical Marijuana Travelling Circus Sideshow which has been performed in 70 cities across the United States and Europe. In November of 2001 she earned 16,941 votes in the New York City municipal elections as the Comptroller candidate for the Medical Marijuana Party. This represented more votes than 10 of the 21 individuals running for city wide office (a veritable medical marijuana mandate.)
