Hi!

I can tell you that Finnish government has informed the European Drug
Monitoring Centre (EMCDDA) for years that there are deaths due to cannabis. It
happens so that certain amount of deaths where there is uncertainty about the
reason of death but there have been cannabis found in the autopsies are
classified as cannabis deaths. Suomen lääkärilehti 15.6.2001 (Finnish magazine
of Medicine) wrote about the issue (pages 2635-2640) and even though cannabis
was stated as the cause of death so one can read from the text that some had
alcohol or medicines also in their bodies but they are legal !

For some the possible cause of death can have been violence but anyhow they are
also classified as cannabis deaths. Between the years 1990-1996 there have been
118 such cases.

Actually Finland have been the only EU country informing the EMCDDA of cannabis
deaths - without making any news about the issue even though the drug warrior
movement is very influential here, second to Sweden!
