When Tanisha had some time off, she drove a Foiler in the Powerdrome series. She was one of the first Replicants to join the series, and got lots of sponsor deals from the big Replicant laboratories. This day was a bit special to Ken. It was the end of the Powerdrome season and Tanisha had made it to the finals. The race was held in Tervenia. Tanisha traveled by the shuttle carrying her Powerdrome Foiler, but some rules prevented members of the family of the pilots to travel with the racing team, so Ken had to take the MagnaTrain. Ken was always a bit jealous on the guys in Tanisha's team. But Tanisha belonged to him and he knew she wouldn't go for any of those guys' cheap tricks. The MagnaTrain did about 400 km/hour, so the trip was over in no time at all. When stepping out of the terminal at Tervenia, he saw Tanisha. As usual she had stopped by the terminal to pick him up. Replicants didn't need to concentrate before a race, so as usual they stopped by the cafeteria for an icecream.
"You're old enough to join the team now, Ken" Tanisha said. "Why don't you?"
"Ahwell, I think it looks a bit dangerous, right?" he mumbled from beneath
his icecream. "You they can just patch together again, but I'm only a human,
see." Tanisha was a bit disapointed. She paused for a while.
"How about the School of Space Aeronautics then? You've always enjoyed
the simulators, why not try the real thing ?"
"Blmaybeblubb" he mumbled through even more icecream.
Tanisha gave him that look he just couldn't resist.
"Ok ok ok! We'll fill in the appliaction when we get back, ok!!!"
Tanisha suddenly looked up and said "Oh, there's the final call. I better get back to the pit stop. Here's your
ticket." She handed him the card and ran towards the exit.
"Hmmm.. Hehe" Ken thought. "Me - a vicious space pirate!. Yeah "
The Drome was packed. Usually the crowds weren't this big. There was usually some nasty crashes in the finals, so that had to be the reason that so many came to the Drome instead of watching it on TV. He could see Tanisha as she stepped into the cockpit. She hoovered the Foiler to the starting line and accelerated towards the first turn. This was just the qualifying run. Ken didn't see much of the action. He was too busy dreaming about his life as a mean, lean space pilot. He woke up just after the starting signal and he just caught a glimpse of Tanisha's foiler as he wizzed around the first bend. She got a great starting position this time. Two other foilers had already crashed and the rescue Foiler was towing them into the pitstop. For some reason there had been sunny most of the day, but now it slowly started to rain again.
The leader shot out of the tunnel and passed the finishing line and wizzed off again towards the turn.
Another foiler came through the tunnel. And there - Tanisha and another
pilot fighting for third place. They passed the bridge almost side by
side. Tanisha pulled the Foiler hard to the right and disappeared under
the bridge. Luckily she must have noticed the rain, and she probably
stopped to change to particle filters. Just thirty seconds later she
shot out of the pit again, and turned to join the race.
At the same time another pilot entering the pit hit her Foiler on the left side,
blowing away most of her left wing. "Shit!" Ken stood up and shouted,
"You moron! You sod!", but was instantly calmed down by a huge bodybuilder
sitting next to him. Even though Tanisha's Foiler tipped over from loosing
the wing she still accelerated out on the track and drowe on. The pilot
who had hit her was thrown towards the bridge above the pit. He was
killed instantly. Some spectators rushing towards the wreckage where
caught by the roaring flames when the fuel tanks exploded.
This was the last round and it rained heavily. Most Foilers had to be towed in
because of the engine damages caused by the rain, but there were still
three of four Foilers left on the track. Tanisha's Foiler had just
entered the second tunnel and the spectators began to stand up to get a
better view when the Foilers came out of the tunnel. Ken just knew that
Tanisha's would be the first one to pass the finishing line. But it
wasn't. The first and second Foiler came out of the tunnel side by side and
Tanisha's Foiler came right behind the two and finished third. The big
bodybuilder who probably had betted a lot of money on the winning Foiler
stood up and jumped up and down in his chair.
"Oh boy, were you betting on the wrong horse" he shouted at Ken.
Ken replied by kicking the seat up while the guy was in mid-air and he landed
on his neck across the back of the chair. Leaving the big guy unconscious,
Ken left for the pit area. Down by the pits he saw Tanisha running around
trying to find some officials. The crash had cost her the first place, and
she was going to file a complaint about it. Ken took her hand and dragged
her towards the exit.
"Let's go home" he said. "You'll never get that first place anyway. Besides
I know a much better way to fix this."
On their way home Ken pulled out his portable terminal and dialed Rogers
number.
"Yuppidyjepp", Roger answered as usual in his phreaking way.
"Roger..Ken here. Need a favour, dude. Get me the access codes for the
PowerDrome Race computer, will ya ?"
"Sure. I'll be back in a jiffy. How's that walking sex-machine of your doing by the way" Roger smiled.
"Oh, I'm fine thanks." she replied knowing that Roger didn't know she was watching
"Ehrmm.. Erm.. Heh... Back in a shorty"
Roger hung up. Twenty seconds later Roger called back and gave them the codes. Ken patched in to the Race
computer and entered the access codes. The codes gave access to the betting
system and that was exactly what Ken wanted. From his terminal he could now
give the two winning pilots a pretty large fine for illegal use of
aero-control computers, which they could not complain to because
just about everybody used them, but no one ever got caught. Then he gave
the pilot who crashed into Tanisha's foiler a very large fine for trying
to obstruct another pilot. With that kind of fine, he would not be allowed
to race for a while. At home Tanisha called her team mates and told them
she would not be coming over to the party they'd planned after the race.
She had other things in mind this evening. She sat down on Ken's bed next
to him and ran her fingers through his hair.
"I've thought about what you said about the Space school" Ken said.
"Let's call them up and download that application form right away"
"No, that can wait until tomorrow" Tanisha whispered as she leaned back
pushing Ken down on the bed. She gently kissed him. Her lips felt warm
and moist, and Ken was in paradise. The next morning would have to wait
a bit longer. This was the night Ken had dreamed of for a long time. He
didn't have that much experience with girls, but it felt like he knew
just what to do. Ken slowly began to unbutton Tanisha's suit. Some
moments later they were both very naked. Under the covers of Ken's bed,
he dicovered how perfect Tanisha's body were, and how good work the
technicians at the Replicant laboratories had done on her.
The next morning came, and Ken opened his eyes looking right into Tanishas beautiful face. The memories from the night before came back to him. A few hours later they'd had their breakfast, and Ken and Tanisha logged on to the main computer at the School for Space Aeronautics. They downloaded the application form and filled it out. With a little luck Ken would be accepted before the next semester.
