Rådhusfasaden og de 2 ørnene
Hvem har vokst opp i Haugesund uten å
ha et forhold til de 2 prektige ørnene som vokter hovedinngangen.
Ingen, vil jeg tro. De var på plass allerede ved innvielsen av Rådhuset
i 1931:
All of us growing up in Haugesund have a special
relationship to the two fantastic eagles in front of the town hall entrance.

En vandring rundt på Rådhusplassen bringer
oss i nærkontakt med flere skulpturer. Jeg mangler informasjon om
de fleste av disse, men her er endel bilder:
Knut Knutsen oas og hans
frue Elisabeth
gav byen penger til bygging av Rådhus (1931)
og parken (1949)
Shipowner Knut Knutsen and his wife Elisabeth
doneted the
funds needed for building both the town hall and
the park.
