A team of trialisits and others who wanted a game drew against Barking on Thursday. One of the players was Hakan Hayrettin. Hardly a proof that this was a significant pre-season game.

Nicki De Da Salle has become the first player from Barnet Ladies FC to play for England at Wembley. The 16 year old schoolgirl was selected for the match against Scotland. Midfielder Nicki played for her country in a mini-tournament in Ireland in May

Kings Lynn midfielder Lee Gibson is on trial at Underhill. The 21 year old was at Lincoln when John Still was there and Still wanted to take another look at him. He never got a game for the Lincoln first team.

Barnet striker Ken Charlery might be on his way to Leyton Orient, while Crawley striker Ben Abbey might be a Barnet player before the start of the season. The 19 years old striker didn't play when Barnet beat Crawley 6-0 on Monday

On Monday an impressive Barnet side beat Crawley 6-0 in a friendly. Scott McGleish scored two to prove his intention for the season, while the other goals were scored by Marlon King, Ken Charlery, Ben Strevens and Gibson.

Dulwich H-Barnet 1-2

Barnet beat Dulwich 2-1 in a friendly on Friday. The goals was scored by John Doolan and Mark Arber. Doolan were apparently playing well in midfield. Marlon King was subbed for head butting.

Billericay-Barnet 0-0

Barnet drew 0-0 in a friendly Thursday. Barnet dominated the match, but couldn't score. In fact Billericay was closest to scoring while they were awarded a penalty. They missed it. They even got two chances after the referee ordered it retaken, but still missed.
The central defense consisting of Mark Arber and Greg Heald looked impressive, while the strikers Charlery and Strevens were less impressive.

Naisbitt to Barnet

Barnet has signed goalkeeper Danny Naisbitt from Walsall. 20 year old Naisbitt has yet to make his debut in league football and he is seen as an understudy to Lee Harrison.

1,200 signatures for Keep Barnet Alive.

The Keep Barnet FC Alive campaign, launched three weeks ago at a meeting of the Third Division Club's supporters, is rapidly gaining momentum. Over 1,200 signatures have been obtained for a petition that will be presented at Downing Street on Saturday, July 17. Application is being made for the scheme to become a registered charity.
Furious after Barnet's plans to move to Copthall Stadium were rejected by the Deputy Prime Minister John Prescott, Bees fan Michael Edwards launched the campaign on the Internet, and two meetings of the supporters have taken place. More than 100 were present at the most recent get together, when over £300 was raised, and Millennium Computer Systems offered their help by providing equipment.

Barnet has signed midfielder Frazer Toms from Charlton Athletic on free transfer.

Worthington Cup 1st Round

Barnet will play Bournemouth in the first round in Worthington Cup. The first match will be at Dean Court on 10th August, while the return match is played at Underhill on 24th August.

Kleanthous on foreign imports

Barnet chairman Tony Kleanthous has launced an attack on the big clubs in English football for ignoring the development of English players and helping destroy the smaller clubs. The mass import of foreign stars mean that smaller clubs that have traditionally needed to sell to survive, must look at other possibilities for these money.
