YTS History

The First YTS Players In 1983 Barnet Youth team played their first game in many years. Even though none of these players got the benifit of the YTS-scheme, that started in 1994, it proved the intention of Barnet Football Club to develop their own talents.
In the first few seasons players like Kieran Adams, Alan Hamlet, Matthew Brady and Neill Thompson played a few games for the club. But all of those have now left the club. The first player to make his debut was Alan Hamlet when he ws picked for the away game at Mansfield on the last day of 1994.
The first goal from a YTS-player was scored by Kieran Adams at Underhill when we beat them 3-1 in December 1997. The first YTS-player to establish himself in the first-team was Warren Goodhind, who played 35 games during the 1997/98 season. Halfway through the next season he got seriously injured. He'll probably be back around christmas and hopefully he'll be back in the same form as he'd shown for the 18 months before his injury.
Then came Marlon King. An 18 year old striker, who impressed after making his debut last season.
Lee Gledhill did also make his debut last season, and he has played in most of the games in pre-season.
Danny Chapman, Leon Bell and Lee Pluck has also got the chance to play in pre-season.
