Barnet took a 2 goal lead after goals by McGleish and Heald, before Brough got Cheltenham back into the game. 30 August 1999 Barnet trash York on Underhill.Barnet beat York 6-3 on Underhill after being 3-2 down at half time. The Barnet goals were scored by Toms, McGleish, heald, Currie, Sawyers and Charlery. 29 August 1999 Ipswich bid for HarrisonFirst division Ipswich are set to make a £600.000 bid for Barnet goalkeeper Lee Harrison. The Bees are out of the Worthington Cup despite winning 3-2 in the 2nd leg against Second division Bournemouth this evening. Barnet got the worst possible start, and found themself 2-0 down inn just over 20 minutes after goals from former Chelsea striker Mark Stein. This is where the government rejected Barnet FC's plans for the new football stadium, because it interfered with green belt, and was a disturbance for the neighbours. In their first home game of the season, Barnet came back from 2-1 down to draw 2-2 agains Exeter. Barnet took the lead through Scott McGleish in the first half, before Exeter scord in the 59th and the 82nd minute to turn the game. Then five minutes later Greg Heald headed in the equalizer.

Barnet lost 1-0 to Spurs reserves in a friendly on Monday. Just over 1500 people saw a strong Tottenham side including players such as Ruel Fox, Espen Baardsen, Stephen Clemence, John Scales, Luke Young, Ledley King and Moussa Saib.
