Norwegian Forest Cattery "av Kokkeplassen (N)"
is a small
cattery situated on the south coast of Norway.
We have been breeding our
National Cat since 1990.
The name of the cattery originates from the place where we live,
that is; Kokkeplassen on
Hisøy (His island) which is situated ca. 3 km west of
Arendal.
You can take a look at
the maps to find your way to our place.
We are usually at home, but we do appreciate a call before you
pay us a visit....
When comming from direction east (Oslo, Sverige) you will be driving on the E-18.
Leave the main road at the signs guiding you to Hisøy/Bjorbekk
(RV 407), follow this road to the traffic circle near the water, turn right
towards Fevik/Hisøy (RV 420).
After passing over the small bridge, Strømbrua, you take the road
to the right, still following roadsigns to Fevik. Soon you will see
the small roadsign leading to Kokkeplassen on your right side.
Drive down the old allee, turn right at the bottom,
our house
is yellow, so it is easy to find.
Comming
from direction west ( Stavanger, Kristiansand ) you will also be driving
on the E-18. Leave the main road at the roadsigns to Hisøy,
and follow the RV 420 to the traffic circle at His, pass through it
in direction Arendal, and drive up a little hill.
On the top you should see the
small roadsign leading to Kokkeplassen on the left side of the road.
When you turn over the road, you look straight at
our house, it is
yellow, so it should not be hard to find.
Kokkeplassen is an old, rural estate dwelling on the beautiful
riverbank of the river Nidelva. The estate has belonged to the
Bakke-family since 1889.
The "farm part" of Kokkeplassen is now owned by the 4. generation
of Bakke.
The rest of the estate contains
Kokkeplassen Family Holiday Apartements, a private harbour facility
called Kokkeplassen Båthavn, and Hisøy Physiotherapy Institute
as well as several private houses, such as the one we live in.
Our Norwegian Forest Cats are indoor cats who have axcess to runs
outside to play in. We do not attend catshows frequently,
but live with our cats as pets at home most of the time.
Our females normaly don't have
kittens more than once a year, so we have no big "production".
Despite of that fact, "av Kokkeplassen (N) cats" are spread out to
several parts of the world.
Our Norwegian Forest cats have been exported to countries in Europe;
(Germany, the Netherlands, Switzerland, France, Sweden) to Asia; (Saudi Arabia)
and to the USA; (New York, South Carolina, Hawaii).
