Thad Phanom is situated 50 km from Nakhon Phanom on Highway 212. This is the site of the historical temple,Prathad Phanom, which was originally built around 535 BC  The most distinctive feature of the temple was in Kmer style. It has been restored many times by the Fine Arts Department. Now it is a square based Pagoda in the style of the northern area of the Nort East. It`s 53.60 meters high anf 12.33 meters wide. The top is mounted with 110 kg of solid gold. In the grounds of the temple is a museum which houses many ancient reics recovered from around the original base after the Pagoda collaosed in 1975.

Prathad Srikhun (Na Kae) From Nakhon Phanom take Highway 212 for 7 kms. and turn left onto Highway 223. The Temple is 20 kms. on the left. This historical Pagoda has spesial spiritual significanse for the people of Nae Kae. The distinctive feature of Prathad Srikhun is it`s likeness to Prathad Phanom. However, it`s not as tall and the bottom half is square and decorated with sculptures.

Dansaocoi (Na Kae) 6 kms. from Na Kae this area consists of flat rock on a mountain which has few trees and gives a panaramic view across Prathad Phanom and Nong Han district Sakon Nakhon
