a frail cry for solitude
from a life that has long lost purpose
consumed by mortal suffering
outdated morality of impotent religions
continues to encroach on out personal decisions
punishing loved ones who avail the terminally ill
Invoking fear into the sick and questioning their will
though government and religion will always try
it seems only the afflicted should have the will to decide
what is the quality of life preserved by artificial means
every breath dependent on medication and machines
the will to die should be respected
and the right to seek help from physician protected
grant peace to those who have nothing left
but a sincere wish for an easeful death
there's gotta be more than what we're handed
there's gotta be more than this mindless repetition
there's gotta be more to life than this
we can make more
there's gotta be more to our existence
there's gotta be more than the scraps we´re thrown
there's gotta be more than your pacifying addictions
we'll make more
´cause you had your chance
you played your turn and lost
we won't be as easily satisfied
this time around
Fluoride prescribed at toxic levels
in advertising campaigns and at dental checkups
but with water our sovereignty is devastated
consumer choice is eliminated
government and ADA deception
practiced on an uninformed population
force fed worthless medication
the myth of mass fluoridation
from home taps and faucets to irrigation
our lives will be consumed by it's contamination
eilling our mouths with industrial pollution
fluoridated water - a poisonous solution
a medical system reflective of society
continues to reinforce the historical dichotomy
where women in need of treatment are less equal
and the undiagnosable passed off as hysterical
self-deflated physicians ignoring symptoms of
disease
trivializing presented problems with snap diagnostic
hair trigger cure-alls to women's health problems
courses in stress management and handfuls of valium
can more women doctors be the simple solution
if they're products of the same tired and ailing institutions
notoriously insensitive and insufficiently trained
to recognize the importance of a woman's complaint
and you tell us that it's all for the kids
your businessman's interpretation of what hardcore is
shelter, cro-mags, sick of it all
booking bands only for the numbers they draw
the business of hardcore a mainstream
abstraction
focusing on image instead of progressive action
submerged in this world of inequity
we sometimes take it upon ourselves to change it all
though with good intentions we lost sight
abusing the rights of others for what we believe to be right
argue, protest, educate
but militant ideology I, can't relate
ignoring responsibility for yourself
while pushing your ideas on somebody else
consider now sometimes our utopian vision
can violate the sanctity of an individual's decision
whether animal rights or saving the earth
how we treat other human beings determines our worth
I can't say that we've lost sight
`cause I don't think we ever had one
that wasn't handed to us
over the TV or in the newspaper
for or against we battle
the same tired opinionated stances
spending an eternity consumed
by a violent fire we fan with our own breaths
and what is god's forgiveness
to the piles of ashes
that blow across these hot deserts
for all our naive beliefs only die with us
on cultural battlefields
look in my eyes
tell me what you see
no trace of ignorance
inside of me.
