Important web sites to view if you're curious about coming to Norway
All property sales in Norway must be handled by a lawyer. Find one via these links here and here. "Lawyer" in Norwegian is "advokat". Search google for "advokat""sogn og fjordane".
The house has a total area of 645 square metres and rests in 8 acres of land going down to the northern shore of Jolstravatnet with bus stops used by express buses to Oslo, Bergen, Trondheim etc. a minute's walk from the house. There is a pump house by the lake, a wood store and a two storey barn. Situated on the E39 road (which bisects the property's land) in Helgheim between Ardal and Skei i Jolster, Sogn og Fjordane, at the moment there are plans to widen the road and perhaps build a footpath. This would mean some of the owner of this house's land being bought by Vegvesen (see here) and here
The house has mountains to the north with it's own land up to trees at the top and some forest up to the mountain. Water comes from a well and a stream runs underground through the field emerging by the drive up to the house so I suppose that means it has it's own stream. I presume the house has fishing rights out into the middle of Jolstravatnet. If that's an important issue for you I can try and find out what the state of affairs is if you agree to split the costs of hiring someone to investigate it IF IT'S GOING TO BE EXPENSIVE. I have bought a fishing permit each year anyway since there is so much good fishing around here and when the wind is coming from a certain direction, you may want to try places away from where you own rights.
I get all UK FreeSat channels (like FreeView but by satellite) via Free To Air satellite receivers, a 1.3m offset satellite dish, 4 output LNB which feeds 4 receivers. One just re-broadcasts Radio 4 throughout the house on FM, the others feed DVD recorders so you can have radio on, watch a channel and video two others, I get all local news channels from the UK like Look North, Channel Islands etc.
There are a few trees here which drop enough wood every year to contribute to the wood I buy to burn in the wood burning. I'd estimate about 40 trees in total on the land. I'll count them if you want!
