The house is across the road from Jølstravatnet, the large lake full of rain and glacial meltwater which has either produced Norway's latest rod caught record trout (ørret) (which may well have been a Ferox Trout Ferrox Trout) or feeds the river that has produced the other record Trout. The lake also holds Arctic Char (aure) and Eels. if you're into fly fishing for relatively small trout from unspoilt mountain streams and lakes, the area is Nirvana. It took about an hour to catch the fish in the photo below from Kjøsnesfjord which flows into Jølstravatnet and they were caught with a Mustad size 12 Abbey Fly on sinking line where the main river from the glacier flows into Kjøsnesfjord.
