A 20 minute walk up the field (altitude 220m) takes you through the forest to the base of a rock / hill / mountain that rises up the main face to the top of the ridge (Grånebba 960m) and on up to the1065m peak of Såtefjellet 1.75km as the Crow flies from the house. The house is an ideal base for walkers and climbers with plenty of tough options in the area and more gentle stuff right by the house. The great thing about being this far North is that in the summer, you can stay outside for ages since it doesn't get dark. All the pictures of rocks, boulders and mountain sides on this web site are of places no more than 20 minutes drive away from house. The weather can change very quickly so make sure you're prepared for mist suddenly descending.
